Didn't know if any of you were planning on going to watch Nate play at LC this year, but fyi LC will start charging for games this year
Ticket Prices Announced for the Upcoming Basketball Season
For immediate release - 10/26/09 - #101

LYNCHBURG, VA - The Lynchburg College men's and women's basketball teams are on the move and looking forward to a successful winter season. The sixth man - the fans, will be a crucial element to the teams' success. The players look forward to great support from the Lynchburg College community.

General admission to all home games is $4, while fans under 18 are $1 and children under six is free. Lynchburg College faculty, staff, students, and families of staff will be admitted free of charge with a valid LC ID. Families of current players will also be admitted for free.

The action begins for the Hornets in mid-November. The men's team will host Ferrum College in Turner Gym on Sunday, November 15, and the women's team will travel to Newport News, VA, on Wednesday, November 18 to play Christopher Newport University.

4 bucks? :rofl

I'd rather use that money to buy a diet Coke at the new movie theatre.

I'll be at LC Friday doing the scrimmage game. I really like working games involving Coach Scott. Should be interesting.

If I'm going to watch a D3 team play, I'd rather go back out to Farmville and watch a quality D3 team in Hampden-Sydney than LC...now if LC was paying me $4 to watch, that would be a different story.

Along that vein Id rather drive 4 hours back home and watch a national champion basketball team (unless the News and Advance sends me to cover LC and then Im getting paid for it)

$4 is better than $0 based on my mathematical calculations. Any money coming in from ticket sales is better than no money from ticket sales. Allegedly there have been "numerous" asking about buying season tickets, so all I see is a benefit to selling tickets. Actually, all of the ODAC teams other than Randolph charge for home games, so the President (and Hilliary Scott) wanted to start charging, so that was the main reason behind it from what I have been told.

Might want to check what year it is, this is the 09-10 season, not the 05-06 season...

I have to correct you on that one. Our championship was in the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association). That was the Karl Hess/Ed Vickers squad coached by Dale Gibson. We made a run in the NAIA a few years later under Meyer, and I believe finished 5th, losing in multiple overtimes to the same Chamanade team that upset UVA and Ralph Sampson when they were ranked #1. That was the Steve Isaacs/Cliff Webber team.

We do however, have not 1 but 2 individual D1 national champions in Heather Zealand and Josh McDougal!

Open to public? Yes
Time? 7 pm
Cost? Zero - I believe the NCAA prohibits D3s from charging for scrimmages since we aren't even allowed to publicize or promote them.

Oh and it's against the Hargrave post-grad team. Nate's Alma mater. They have dominique ferguson, the 8th ranked PF in this year's class who was being courted by tons of high majors before giving Zeke a verbal down at FIU. LC will get their butt whipped, but the Hargrave scrimmage is always an interesting one to watch.

The HMA PG basketball team could compete for a national championship if it was a college team with the caliber of guys they get there. Coach Keatts really knows how to get players and make the most with them. When I was there (yeah I know when basketball was first invented and we still used peach baskets), a lot of the guys I knew were going to some pretty legit programs.

Yeah, that program is legit. If you hear of a guy going D2 from there, you are like "what is wrong with that kind?"

They have 4 alumni in the NBA right now - David West (nba all-star I think), Josh Howard (has the talent to be an all-star), Mareese Speights (who shockingly owned Dwight Howard and Marcin Gortat in the 76ers season opener this week, going 10-11 from the field for 26 points), and Joe Alexander (who looks like he is going to be a major bust).
