Who came up with this? It's really outdated. I love crests but come on, don't make something that looks modern in 1992 or whenever that was designed. You need something that you don't have to change/update every 10 years.

They started using the Gadsen flag back in 03 or something like that. It was a Nike marketing campaign.

but soccer balls don't even look like that anymore. Really just if the ball was gone it might be acceptable.

It's the soccer ball that makes it look cheesy. Most crests don't include a ball.
