It just ends up killing traffic to the site. I do, however, purge users who register and don't post after a certain period of time.

Better yet, why dont we just get rid of emoticons altogether. What purpose to them is there? None. Plus, super easy fix for El Scorcho, I imagine, at least compared to upgrading the entire site
