Normally spammers use scripts to automate things like spamming messages boards. We've got several things in place that keep that from happening here. So, the really sad part is that some poor guy is actually manually registering and then pasting in his silly spam. I really don't see how it could be worth it, but such are the mysteries of the Internet.
