With all due respect, Lundy=zero chance. I think he did a pretty decent job at HP, but see that as the pinnacle of his capabilities.

Hold My Own wrote:First off I dont think Lundy's off the court character is a great fit...is he a bad guy, no way but I just dont think he has a lifestyle we look for

I saw previously someone mentioned that we should get another big time hire...I couldnt disagree more...I want NOTHING to do with a big time hire, I want someone who's going to be here for at least 5 years and big time hires cant promise that unless they are close to 60 years of age
See..the other side of that argument is you hire a young and up and coming coach, and he comes in, does well and he can leave in a couple of years just the same.

I don't think there is a magical formula. JB just has to hire who he thinks is the best fit for LU right now.

When you beat a team by 40 points in a BSC championship game its only natural to give props where they are due....

I really don't care who you hire. Lundy, Layer, and McKay are very close friends and all very good men, I wouldn't think that there is much difference in their respective life styles. I'm just saying that you have proven coaches in Layer and Lundy and perhaps an opportunity to hire them even though I'm not sure that either would be interested. If I were a coach I would have to think long and hard about signing into your program. Ragingtirefire, with all due respect I don't think that you could swap Lundy for Jackson. I think Jackson is a Zen Buddhist.

So would Izzo, but we're not getting him either. Maybe Digger Phelps would come out of retirement.

It sounds like it'd be a good idea to hire this Brad Soucie guy.....

From Chris Lang's article....
"Ryan Pannone, said Perez has an excellent relationship with Soucie and that if Soucie gets the head coaching job, Perez’s commitment is rock solid. If it’s not Soucie, Perez may re-evaluate things."

I believe hiring Soucie would be a extremely bad move by Barber. As soon as Mckay receives a big time Job at a high profile school After being at UVA for a few years, Soucie will leave us and join Mckay as a assistant wherever Mckay goes. Look at the past history between Soucie and Mckay. If we lose Perez’s commitment then so be it, we will be much better off in the long run

Yeah, we don't need Soucie's players, we need Liberty players. If they don't wanna play for Liberty then they can go elsewhere.
