I follow Leo Laporte on Twitter...he posted this about Keith Olberman. Quite funny (and true)
LeoLaporte I have to say I've never understood Olberman's appeal. And I'm a flaming liberal. I can only imagine what conservatives think.

The only thing I've ever seen of his are his little editorial monologues where he gets so worked up. Meh.

I like Leo Laporte a lot, though.

I always thought the "Olbermann character" on SportsNight was a little over the top. Then, I saw the real thing on MSNBC.

What a rectal wart.

I've been watching a lot of MSNBC lately. Morning Joe is a really good morning show. They get into some politics but seem like they're having fun with each other. The Hardball/Countdown/Maddow block at night is watched in small doses, strictly for comedic purposes. I find it entertaining to see them jump to opposite ends of the emotional scale after having checked the official party stance on any given topic. Pompous is the best word to describe them. But like I said, in small doses. Not only are there better things on to watch, I can only be entertained by such ridiculousness for so long before it starts to annoy me. It's more of a "watch during the commercials" activity.

Frankly, Keith is a funny guy when he's not trying to be the most clever person in the room. Unfortunately that seems to be his full focus these days. When he loosens up for sports responsibilities he shows flashes of his past brilliance. But the light grows dimmer every day.

His arrogance seems to have grown over the past years...I dont remember having that much of it during his ESPN days but then again I was younger but it just didnt come through the screen like I see now

Olberman has absolutely no credibility until he has someone on his show with an opposing viewpoint. He won't ever do that. I honestly think I could go toe-to-toe with the guy on the major issues right now and make his hair gel melt.

that is probably the thing that annoys me the most about him...at least other liberal hosts allow people with other views on their shows...this guy just like to get his ego padded...even most of the conservative shows on the evil fox news allow liberals on at least once a show...
