You guys know what happened when Austin and Tyler were on the floor?

They were pulled out to guard Travis and Chavis and would get schooled, and then there's no one in the paint to help out.

Just because Alex got 40/20 against them doesnt mean he didnt give up buckets on the defensive end. He was just a versatile post presence who was the key to our offense. That's not the key anymore. If Seth had gone for 40 tonight no one would be crying for more post play. You guys are so freaking outcome based, which is why you will never ever be good coaches, and should let RMK do his job.

It's about the process and technique, not the outcome.
You keep saying "you guys" but I think you're just arguing with one guy.
I guess I am the one guy. I thought this was a message board where we can express our opinions.. sorry luconn
Just because I prove you wrong I am infringing your right to free speech on the message board?

Someone is weak-willed, eh?

You can have all of the incorrect opinions that you want and post them until the cows come home. I was just correcting TTL as it seemed like he was getting the impression that everybody here thought like you.

Actually troy brought it up that a post player would have helped & I refuted the point... Helped?? That's of course true that anything might've helped tonight but that is for the LU players to soul search about, but it wouldn't have made the difference based on the CONS side of having a big man on the floor vs VMI was my point..

I am not on here to argue. I was truly saying I am sorry. I did not mean to upset anyone. I hope the team does well...

Anyone notice they were doing all the cheers we did last time we played them?

Thank you Sonia and our house are the two I noticed.

Guys, I NEVER thought in a 100 years today's game would turn out the way it did. We were hoping for a "breakout" game after three consecutive losses, but no one saw this coming. This by far VMI's best 40-minute effort since the Kentucky game. These things can happen to most any squad, most any night. Heck, we've been on the losing end of 30+ point blowouts waaayyy too many times the past 20 years. We felt after the Presby. game 8 days ago like you all do tonight. Shoot: we don't get embarrassed at PC, and have CCU hit a buzzer-beater two nights before that, we'd be playing for first Saturday nite at High Point.

I personally thought we should have cleared the whole bench at the 4:00 media time out. We had two guys not play at all, and two others play only 40 seconds.

Just focus on Radford, you can win that game, just be confident, hit shots early, and take their big guys out of the equation.

Just remember, this is a very young team with a huge upside for the future. These kind of games are all building blocks. It's just growing pains.

Thanks so much. What a refreshing contrast to the Winthrop fans in defeat.

LU has an immediate, bright future in basketball. I hope we don't regret winning by this margin during the regular season.

Aside from signing your fight song during post-game prayer (we respected the alma mater, would hope for the same sort of respect in return, but emotions run high after a big win), your fans were good, loud, and gave us a taste of our own medicine. Good showing and maybe we can do this again in a week or so? :)

I don't know if our fans even know that you have a post-game thing. I certainly didn't. Other than the academies, we've never seen anyone else have one, so I have to doubt it was intentional.

Apologies on their behalf, regardless.

Playing you again in the tourney suits me fine. If we can't win it, I hope you do.

Nah, it was frustrating at the moment, but anything is frustrating after you get blown out by 40 points.

The alma mater is a sweet experience, tho. Hearing Cameron just hum with the tune gives ya goosebumps.

No harm, no foul. Boys prayed the prayer and hit the locker room. LU and VMI fans left, the latter happier than the former.

And trust me, we would much rather see you guys than RU. That's for darn sure. We'd rather get beat running than get beat watching a 7 foot Russian dropping the ball in the hoop.

Thanks--would hope we didn't ruffle any feathers there.

Believe it or not, I'd rather play Radford again than Liberty. As long as we're shooting decently, I think we actually match up against them better.

Like we were saying... Parahouskie and Lynch Flour might be able to go for a ton of points and boards, but they're also going to give up easy buckets to all your players since they just don't match up... The big 7 footer steps out on Chavis and next thing you know big dude just has to watch an easy bucket go in behind him, then try and run down the floor and hope the ball gets to him without being picked off by the press.

ToTheLeft wrote:Guys, shut up. One game doesn't tell you anything about a team, a program, or anything.

This is just like...

after the UNCA game

"We won't win but maybe 2 conference games. let's hope UVA doesn't kill us."

we beat UVA and almost beat clemson

"now, when we get our 13 seed to the dance and win the rest of our conference games..."

we lose to Winthrop and Presby

"We need a big man, Kyle needs to stop shooting"

we go on a winning streak

"RMK is doing a good job with this team..."

we lose to ODU and VMI

"we need a post player, RMK sucks."

How about you look at the whole season?

We have 20 freaking wins. This is in coach's SECOND year. TWENTY. Props to that.

We have played a lot of very good basketball this year. Big road wins at CCU, CSU, VMI, and UVA. We suck on the road historically, so consider that a bright spot and proof that RMK might know what he's freaking doin.

If you guys don't like RMK and his style, LC has a basketball team you can support. Or suck it up and pull for him even if you don't agree. RMK has brought this team to the point where we're on ESPN. Come on people, doesn't that mean anything? Just because he won't conform to the armchair coaches who want Art Parahouski down low to score 50 and get 30 rebounds, he sucks as a coach?

He has a style, and it freaking works. I am 100% behind this team, and excited to see what they can do in this years tourney, and in the next 3 seasons. This is the start, not the end. So stop being pretending that since you watch Steven A Smith, Dick Vitale, and Steve Lavin on TV that you know coach a team, sit back, and watch a great coach and a great man put an excellent team on the floor every night.

Go Flames, Beat Radford, and let's make a run in the tourney.
