I am just wondering how everyone does their Christmas gifting. Do you draw a name out of a hat and give to a sibling? Do you just do gag gifts or just buy for mom and dad? I am looking for new ideas. Thanks!

Mom, dad, grandparents, and siblings...then my aunts and uncles draw names out of a hat to decide which niece/nephew to give to (in my generation).

And in my own immediate family:
Mom-some type of Boyds Bear (she collects those)
Dad-gift card to sears
Sister-t-shirt
Bro-in-law-hat
Nephew-John Deere Puzzle
Niece-Teddy Bear
Grandparents-A Chucky B CD

With my wife's family, the sibs and in-laws' names are drawn out of a hat...then all the cousins' names are drawn for them to exchange.

Instead of a tree, we erect a metal pole in the middle of our house. After all, the tinsel is distracting. We begin our celebration with the annual 'airing of grievances', which gives everyone a chance to get whatever's on their chest and opportunity to clear their conscious. It doesn't have to be directed at anyone in the room, it could be a general complaint about work, or the country, or the mailman, or whatever. Dinner usually consists of a holiday spaghetti meal, and afterwards we participate in what's known as the "Feats of Strength", which is a sort of competition that doesn't end until the head of the house is pinned.

Immediate family which includes my wife & three kids along with each of our sets of parents all get a gift from each other. We usually do a family gift to my sister and my wife's brother and his wife. And we do a family gift to both of our nieces and nephews. We usually send my grandfather a gift card to someplace he likes to eat. What else can you give an 86-year-old.

We have WAY too many aunts & uncles to start down that road.

basically everybody buys for everybody else in my family. Often times the kids will get together on gifts for mom and dad though. We havent used a tree since my youngest sister went off to college a number of years ago. We instead set up a nativity, then that morning, we pray and thank God for getting us through another year and for his blessings and then we pick one person and they get all their gifts from everybody and work around the room until all the gifts are opened and then we have family brunch

We draw names outta the hat for nieces/nephews- everyone buys for their own kids.

No gifts for big people- we eat and enjoy a lager and I watch sports.
