I was just watching the game on MASN and the student section sounds good on TV! The move those chains chant sounds awesome!

How hard would it be for the people that we pay to announce our games, whether on TV or through the PA system, to learn how to properly pronounce our players' names? Is it really that hard?

It's Danny Brah-gen. It's not Bro-gen.

It's Ryan Gry-zer. It is not Ryan Grease-er.
He also seems to think Bolden's first name is Dominique.

do anyone on the Baptist side happen to see Coach Wach standing on the benches waving a towel trying to get the fans excited? It was a sight to behold, he started yellin and eventually got most of that side on their feet and cheering, it was great.

I sit over on the Baptist side and yes...it was very quite lame over there. There were some early cheers, but after about mid-way thru the 2nd quarter...it was like waiting on communion to start.

I only stayed until halftime and then had a neighbor's wedding to go to, but I taped the 2nd half on my 1990s VCR and watched it after the wedding reception. I'm really sorry that I missed seeing the guy win the car.

I think that if the baptist side is going to change, it starts with us. Everyone on here should try to sit in the same section or something for Lafayette. And as far as the announcer, at least it wasn't JE. :)

Yesterday was just an anomaly I think. It seemed like everyone was out of it.

what is going on during pre-game warm ups?
Mike Larsson injured his quad in pre-game warm-ups and he was unavailable to kick. Bevins performed well, punting four times for an average of 41.8 yards. He had a long of 50 yards and placed two punts inside the Stony Brook 20.
“Late in the game, he rode a couple out inside the 20 yard line,” Rocco said. “So I was real happy with his performance.”
Extra points
Zach Davis, Liberty’s starting left tackle, didn’t play after suffering a shoulder injury in pre-game warm-ups.

I don't know in this specific case, but it's not real unusual for kickers to pull or "tweak" a muscle during warmup. It happens more often than you would think.

OK....You win! I didn't realize it was a shoulder injury. When the team came onto the field he must have run into the goal post....or Asa Chapman. Wait a minute ... didn't article say that Larsson injured his quad? I think it refered to ZT's should er injury.

One thing I saw when I looked at the box score from yesterday's game is that 9 different players caught a pass yesterday and 9 different players rushed the ball. They really are spreading the love around on offense

Go for it! We would all love to hear from the VMI side. Over on the Coastal board, they are ready to fall on their swords.

SuperJon wrote:It wasn't just the Baptist side that seemed dead. The entire crowd did. I don't know what the deal was. I was there for the first quarter but then it seemed like I just checked out the rest of the game and went through the motions.
Ditto

I do have a question, does the "Baptist" side "check-out" early and empty the seats as bad as the student side? Yesterday was the worst.....it seemed like it was just the band and LUnatics left early in the fourth. Does the Baptist side look just as horrible by the fourth quarter?

and oh by the way, they're re-airing the game on MASN, Tuesday night (10/14/08 ) at 7p. I'd like to see that Greiser tackle of their WR again, right PAMedic?

The Baptist side empties out pretty bad too.

I know this sounds absolutely horrible, but kids come for the first half knowing we're going to be killing someone and then leave. We haven't had a close home game since Gardner-Webb in 06. It's a great problem to have, but that's the reality of it.

Coastal came in geared to stop the run, so we threw for big plays and blew them off the line for a TD on our first series. That set the tempo for the game, although we lost the momentum for most of the first half. We made mistakes and gave up 14 points with turnovers and had to battle back from that. After we got the lead early in the 3rd quarter, I think Coastal let up some. They are a young team, too.

We rarely win all three phases of the game, but we did yesterday. We also won both lines of scrimmage (five sacks). In fairness to Coastal, we had not played that well, especially on defense and special teams, all season. Our defense grew up after learning a new system and trusted each other for the first time. I think our team is so focused on winning conference games that we had some extra grit yesterday.

I've read a post on the CCU board that says we have the least talent in the conference. That's not true. We don't have size, but we do have speed and skill and our lines played good technique yesterday. I'm sure CCU was surprised at how well we ran wih them and covered yesterday.

No idea how good the Chants are. Pretty sure we're a good bit better, though. Huge win for our program, too.

hope so. Nobody made any noise for the D at any point in the game. It was like watching golf on tv by halftime!

Mo, you'll be pleased to know that I couldn't find the UVa game on the radio, so I tuned in to the VMI-Coastal game during my tailgating party before the LU game. I had the radio in my truck on with the doors and windows wide open, listening to the VMI game while I was grilling my brats and my hot dogs. I was pulling for you guys.
