OK, I can only imagine the discussion on this one. Marshall (according to the Orange County Register) is gone to College of Charleston.

Let's hear it, whatever "it" is.

Article from ESPN

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Winthrop coach Gregg Marshall will be the new coach at the College of Charleston.

Marshall confirmed Tuesday he will take the job, replacing Tom Herrion, who was let go earlier this month.

It will be a homecoming for Marshall, who was an assistant at Charleston for eight years under John Kresse, who built the program almost from scratch.

Marshall went 163-78 in his eight years at Winthrop, winning the Big South Conference six times. The Eagles were 65-155 in the eight years before Marshall arrived.

Marshall will take over a program that has lost some of its luster since the 2002 departure of Kresse, who won an NAIA title with the Cougars. After the school jumped to NCAA Division I, the Cougars reached the NCAA Tournament four times during the 1990s.

In Herrion's first season, the College of Charleston won the Great Alaska Shootout and finished 25-8. The next season the Cougars were 20-9, followed by an 18-10 mark and a 17-11 record last season.

College of Charleston officials would not confirm Marshall's hiring, but said a news conference was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon to discuss the basketball program.
