Wow FUMBLE you really "dropped the ball" on this one. Turn on conservative talk radio and tell me this was a bad choice. This is going to be a great choice.
1. She is hot
2. She is a "reformer". Look for the McCain campaign to start harping on Govt spending and how it needs to be controlled. They will OWN that issue.
3. The conservative Christians just got a HUGE bone.. thrown their way. A female Pro=Life candidate who put her money where her beliefs are buy taking the birth of her Down Syndrome's child to term. She also was the head of her FCA huddle. Where is Tim Hill she needs to speak!!
4. Her nickname is Sarah Baracuda
5. Obama will harp on her inexperience HOWEVER, if SHE is unqualified, what is he?? She has executive experience as a Mayor and GOvernor. He has none. I would LOVE to see that one
6. Energy policy will take a huge role in this election Who is going to have more credibility on this one then the Gov whose state holds a bunch of oil, who is an environmentalist, outdoor enthusiast and whose husband works for one of the oil companies. Not OWNs but works for.
7. In the short term, is ANYONE talking about Barak Apollo Obama
8. They are giving the Hillary voters a HUGE opportunity to vote Republican. There are a good deal of women who will vote for the ticket b/c she is a woman, just as there are a large number of black people who will vote Obama just b/c he is black
9. Republicans now OWN the soccer mom (or in her case Hockey Mom) vote
10 Obi Wan Kanobi is one of her advisers:

And how can guys NOT vote for this ticket
1. Hot VP
2. Hot First Lady
3. Beer distributer
4. VP was a hoopster and loves sports
5. McCain used to drive fast and blow stuff up!

They have my vote

Yeah but who makes the final decisions, the Pres or the VP? I'd rather have the experience candidate leading the country than the inexperienced.

Why are we comparing the candidate for president (Obama) with the oppositions candidate for VP? The GOP are electing McCain, right?? He is old, but when was the last time a sitting president died, or became unable to fulfill his presidential duties??

I like Palin. She's a staunch conservative and she looks like a naughty librarian.

But I do see where the "a heartbeat away from the Presidency" issue could hurt the ticket.

Executive administration experience vs voting present for a two years in the senate?

I know which one I'm taking.

Yeah...and what happens if (God forbid) McCain dies in office? Now we got someone with NO national experience leading the country....
...of course the ultimate irony is that it would NOT be Hillary who would be the first female President.

Seriously, I pray I am wrong on this one (usually I am), and she helps McCain get elected.

Some of the crazies on the extreme left are saying she's a creationist as well, that she thinks creationism should be taught alongside evolution in public schools. They're going crazy right now, really grasping at straws.

the way I see it if you wanna look at it from an experience standpoint, you can't not vote for them because she doesn't have much experience. She has led a state for what 2 years? Obama has led... a city planning committee meeting or something. Obama is vastly unqualified.
If you wanna go with one heartbeat away, the chances of her becoming president are very slim from the president dying, and if that did happen she would still have experience of being vice president for a while first probably.

The more news I watch on this lady the more I like her. I think this will be a great pick, and hopefully will lock in the hillary supporters

Wow. What a pick! For the first time, people are actually excited about McCain's campaign. It would be nice if she had about 4 more years as governor, but I'm not being picky here.

The best part is that the suspense of the pick held the media hostage all morning and didn't allow them to talk about King Obama's speech. I bet the Dems are beside themselves. (I can hear Howard Dean screaming right now...)

Who said McCain didn't know what he was doing?

Paging Fumble... Study

I'm guessing JFK for the first part of the question & Reagan for the second part.

Yes...and NO...
...the 25th Amendment was invoked I think when Bush II underwent a colonoscopy and Cheney was "in charge..." and I am pretty sure that even though he was in surgery, Regan never really invoked the amendment when he was shot.

This pick just reeks of pandering...to the evangelical wing and to try to win over disgruntled Hillary-ites. Of course...
...YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME...so I can understand it and appreciate it, even if I am not currently happy about it. This almost has Karl Rove's handprints all over it.

is there something wrong with trying to win over voters? isn't that the whole point?

Rove was pushing Romney real hard. I doubt he engineered Palin.
