Happened to me before. If you get your tint changed before the court date and show up with proof they will wave your fine and you will only have to pay the court fee, but by time you pay to get your tint changed and the court fee you could go ahead and pay the ticket and keep your tint. I did that, and I got a 2nd ticket for it 3 months later; I then decided to go ahead and change the tint.

Take a picture from up close of someone else's windows... They dont study what the interior looks like, they will never know.

I know two ways to get out of this: south to Mexico or north to Canada. You'll be convicted in absentia and the fines will pile up exponentially in your absence and you'll never be able to visit your favorite "theater" in Farmville ever again but, hey, you'll have gotten away with it.

You could also just pay the ticket and quit whining about getting busted for something you did.

The car was bought with them already tinted. The person it was bought from was asked about it and I/my parents were told it was legal. It then passed state inspection, and again I asked the people doing it and they said I was ok. I have also passed hundreds of state troopers running radar and not gotten pulled over, gotten passed by many cops (State, Lynchburg, Campbell, Appomattox, Prince Edward, Charlotte, Bedford, Roanoke, Montgomery, Boutetourt, etc...) and never had a problem until this state trooper decided to do a u-turn and pull me over just for that. Personally, I would like to keep the tint, but if its not legal then oh well...I'll get it changed.

So, for the record, I wasn't the one who tinted them in the first place and got told twice it was ok and nothing needed to be done. I am a law-abiding citizen who-until now-has had a perfect driving record.

And an update...had my court date yesterday...case was dismissed.


That cop had a lot of tickets yesterday...mostly for things like expired inspection sticker, no county decal, etc...ALL of those got dismissed.

He had two reckless driving...one got dismissed b/c the person's blood sugar level went haywire after her insulin levels got adjusted on her insulin pump, and he also had one speeding ticket that was upheld. He may get an award for most tickets, but his conviction rate is extremely low.

Yes, I got my tint fixed...didn't even have to pay court costs either.
