OK...I really need to get my family away from CABLE and they are willing to EXCEPT they have around 8 TV's that would need a receiver and when you add the $5 per hook up they really wont be saving much money. The quality from the Cable service is awful...it's an old line that is run up their driveway which seems like a half a mile long.

Does anyone know of any specials for multiple hook ups? Does anyone else have a good plan for something like what we need?

HMO, I don't know if DishNetwork has any better deals, but that's what I have, and I really love their service.

get DISH, it's a better deal both monetarily and in terms of channels. We have 6 TVs hooked up (kitchen, living room, den, two bedrooms - one bedroom has a tv and a computer with a tv tuner connected) and we only have three receivers. They charge a set dollar amount, can't remember how much, per receiver as opposed to per tv I believe. We have the second most expensive package, and I believe it costs the same as cable or slightly less.

Five of us at home. We have seven tv's. Only four, maybe five, have digital cable boxes. The rest are basic cable.

Four bedrooms (three kids + parents)
Living room
Basement
Game room

My parents have 10 televisions (that I can count thinking off the top of my head) including 2 older 60" rear projections and a 42" LCD. There are only 2 of them at the house and those 10 aren't including the ones in the home office. It's ridiculous. Strangely enough, when I was at home I wasn't allowed to have a tv in my room...By the way, they have cable too since the cost of satellite would end up being higher.

It's kind of a larger house...it could easily have 9 or 10 but some rooms just dont have them

i guess i don't see the point in having a tv in every single room....

i have dishnetwork and it has been decent. a few problems but they sent a guy out to fix it for free. I got a good deal and free DVR. one box runs 2 rooms, so you don't have to pay as much that way

I suspect you want DirecTv since they are the only one with the NFL package. Call them and explain your situation, they will work out something for you, they are pretty flexible with their customer service.

Why would you ever need more TV's than you have people? Just in case company comes over and everyone wants to watch something different?

We have one in every bedroom, the living room upstairs, the den downstairs, and then we have another room that has video games and stuff like that in it. I don't think that's excessive at all. We don't have cable boxes in all of those rooms and it's not like we have flat screen LCD's in them either. The tv in my bedroom is an old one we used to have in the camper that's maybe 13 inches.

Sad? LOL...alrite man...so I guess it's "sad" to have a larger home, or newer home, or newer car or what? Your like these people who feel sorry for those who have done well in business and despise them from a distance

I'm still confused how it is you're focusing no the number of TVs...what does it matter to you? Really? What?

Big Boy: I weigh 300 pounds and need to find the nearest store that has clothes my size
Thepostman: Why dont you just eat less?
Big Boy: Oh ok thanks, you saved my life

I can see your point if the tv's were in the bathrooms and kitchen and stuff like that. That's getting a little overboard. Bedrooms, living rooms, and game rooms is normal though.

I'm still trying to figure out the "as many TV's as people" theory....

Does that mean you only have them in bedrooms and your living room doesnt? Or do you have one in the living room but one child is left out...how do you choose? Favorites? Competition? How!

This thread is so funny on so many levels  love it

That one's easy:

One in every bedroom and one in the living room. That's one for every person assuming your the parents/adult couple sleep in the same room.

ThePostman's Mom: Our first television set. Dad just picked it up today. Do you have a television?
Marty McFly: Well, yeah! You know we have... two of them.
ThePostman: Wow! You must be rich!
ThePostman's Mom: Oh, honey, he's teasing you. Nobody has two television sets.
