Sir, I watched the NBA for years. It got progressively worse. It is not fundamental basketball, it's school yard junk. I love to watch college because it is a mix of many different styles to fit the teams. The NBA is just plain sloppy, boring, and dominated by ball hog millionaires.

fundamentals?? if thats what we're talking about thats a problem in ALL levels of basketball, not just the NBA....i think the nba went through i rough stretch in the late 90's, but it is really picking up and much, much more entertaining then NASCAR...and that isn't saying much....

by the way the Magic made it out of the first round for the first time since 1996....that is really why the NBA sucked for so long the Magic sucked....so you can come back and cheer dwight howard on...haha

I can. I absolutely love the game of soccer and think it can be boring at times. The same with baseball.

You have to love the game and/or have a preconceived interest in most sports to like it.

i agree soccer gets a bad rap...i am far from a huge fan or anything...but i always love the world cup....again, much more entertaining then nascar

A lot of people say they don't really like soccer but they like the World Cup. It's because it's more than just a game of soccer then. It represents something. I've always loved soccer, but since I decided on a team to root for in the EPL, it's been a lot more fun. Watching a game is more than just a single game now. It means something. If someone is just going to sit down and watch a random soccer game that means nothing to them, chances are it's going to be boring. If you have a vested interest in it, or understand the meaning behind it, then it's not boring at all.

as for the "more fundamental" baloney, high school basketball is much more fundamental than college ball and is more "team oriented" but anyone who would say hs basketball is better than the nba is a moron... the best players play in the nba...period....you watch the best basketball by watching the best players...

Depends who the high school coach is. Most high school coaches aren't very good, so that's not really true.

you can't deny its not true....the majority american white people dont' watch the nba anymroe because there are hardly any american white people getting more than 10 minutes in the nba anymore....parents don't aspire for their children to become nba stars anymore because they think A) its no use, they are genetically predisposed to not be good enough to make an impact in the nba (jj redick) or B) BLAHBLABHABLH THUGS, DRUGS, AND NO HUGS

People don't sit there and think, "you know there aren't nearly as many white people as I'd like so although this is pretty fun to watch, I'll pass." The way the game is played in the NBA is just not entertaining. People may say that it's because the players are all so huge but it's the same size court. Some may say they don't play defense. Close. It's because zone D is illegal. That may sounds stupid but it's a completely different game without it, and it results in a lot of "isolation" plays which get boring real fast.

Zone defense is legal in the NBA. There is no such thing as illegal defense anymore. It's been that way for quite a long time now...

Besides, the high use of zone defense in the pre-college level is what's ruining kids abilities to play defense. Coaches are amking these kids play it to help mask their players lack of ability to play defense, but you can't play a good zone defense if you can't play good man-to-man defense. so by not working on their man-to-man defense and making them play zone, they aren't going to be getting any better.
