I'm curious to know if magazines give free subscriptions to businesses. I would think they would since it will be viewed by quite a few people a day, but didnt know if anyone on here has personally done this. Maybe there is a flat fee for several subscriptions for businesses or something. I dont know, please advise.

It is a tax write-off under these circumstances. It is not hard to find deals these days ... or just wait for the elementary school kid nearest you to show up on your doorstep.

HMO, are you implying that people waiting for a tanning appointment would actually read magazines? Study

no, but the guys that come in to tan will need something to "act" like they are reading when really they are looking at the other customers walking in....it's an old BJ trick

I thought about 98% of tanning customers were ladies, with you and JB as obvious exceptions to the rule, and both of you would probably spend more on your cell phones than reading magazines. :)

Good idea Cider, ask someone in the tanning business what the best way to go is. That's like asking a Quixtar Bot what the best way to get rich is.

I get tons of free mags sent to my business. We don't sign up for most of them, they just show up. We sometimes get a postcard in the mail offering a free subscriptions, but these are normally not your typical SI, ESPN, Vogue, mags...the're Investment News, CEO Today, Business Week, etc.... They normally pull list from Public Data. If you want a magazine - call them and tell them that you have an average of 30 people coming in daily and you wanted to be able to highlight their publication. It's not about selling subscriptions at Tanning Salons, doctors offices, etc... It is about justifying to Advertisers that they will get in front of a lot of potential consumers and Tanning Salons offer a good female demo with discretionary income.

give me your address and I will make sure you get a FREE subscription to Lynchburg Living;)
