I've got a nice little money market account at etrade that has a good interest rate. I'm also signed up for the easy, automatic transfer of funds -- so that i can quickly get my money out of etrade if / when they declare bankruptcy...

Anyhow...back on topic.

Looks like the waling and gnashing of teeth won't last long:

TOKYO — Most Asian markets rebounded Wednesday, reversing their recent gut-wrenching plunge as investors welcomed a hefty, surprise interest rate cut overnight by the U.S. Federal Reserve to shore up the sagging American economy.

Hong Kong blue chips rose 10.7% in their best one-day performance in nearly a decade, as global bank and heavyweight HSBC Holdings found a firm toehold a day after it hit levels not seen since Sept. 2003.

i have a nice money market through FNBO direct getting 5.05, but i'm worried they will drop the rate. thats why I got the CD, but i'm thinking about not funding it now because i expect the market to rebound soon and 6 months is a long time

Yeah I think it will too, they are playing catch-up right now in my opinion. I'm not sure what to think of Bernake yet.
