Davidson completed their perfect run through the SoCon last night winning the conference tourney championship over Elon. Stephen Curry scored 23 points. Davidson is 26-6 and has won 22 in a row. They are currently ranked #25 in the coaches' poll. What seed will they get?

5 or 6.

I'm leaning toward a 5.

The comittee tends to hold mid-majors to a different standard than the teams from major conferences. So it'll be on the higher end of what they really should get. I'd say they deserve a 9 or an 10. But they'll probably get a 6 seed.

Who did they play on the front end that had them sitting at 4-6?

-+-+-+-+-+-

Never mind, just checked. UNC, Duke, NC State, UNC-Charlotte, UCLA, Western Michigan and the only lopsided score was UCLA. Aside from WMU, those are some impressive losses. However, the only non-SoCon team they beat was NC Central. That doesn't warrant a 6 seed to me.

UNC, Duke, UCLA among others. Who came up with this schedule? Funny thing was they didn't get blown out of any of these games.

Prolly an 8, but I could see a 7. I don't think they will get a 6. I think there are too many other good teams for them to get a 5 or 6, even if they ARE ranked #25. (besides, 6x4 = 24) I do think they will land the 7 in the same bracket as the lowest ranked #1.

Probably an 11. Winthrop had a better resume last year, but the field was stronger last year. So they should get an 11.

definitely not 11, they should be a favorite in their game, not an underdog this year.

I'm gonna disagree with that, but it's all about what they will get. Not what they deserve. And the comittee holds mid-majors to an easier standard so they'll get a pretty good seed. That's why I said 6.

Winthrop top wins last year: 36 Mizzou st, 39 ODU, 64 Miss st. Worst loss: 17 Texas A&M

Davidson best wins this year: 110 Winthrop, worst losses: 119 Western Michigan, 95 NC State

I have a trouble putting them higher than a 13 actually. You may give a little more weight to their conference schedule, but not to make up for the absolute lack of wins in OOC and some questionable losses.

I don't know what the committee will do, but I doubt they give them higher than a 10. The field is a little weaker this year so that's why I think they'll get an 11, but I could see a 12 as well.

There is no doubt in my mind that last years WU team is better than this years Davidson. However, Youre looking at 2 different conferences. And I think the NCAA as a whole has way less talent than last year. Because Tyler Baker didnt play this year and all the Gators got drafted/graduated :D

Agreed on all counts. I still don't see a 9 or better seed even with the watered down tournament this year. I just can't see the committee giving a single digit seed to team with no RPI wins in the top 100. But I also don't pretend to understand the committee.

They will be in the 7-10 game as a 10th seed. No way they get a 5 or a 6. The Polls have little or nothing to do with seeding. Butler is 10th in the nation but they are not going to get a 3 seed. Butler may get the 5 or 6 like you guys predicted Davidson will get. Still an unbelievable accomplishment to go 20-0 in conference then win the tournament. Stephen told me last week that he will play the point his last 2 seasons but that Richards is one of the best players he ever played with so there was no way he was going to sit him at the 1. Richards will have a shot at the NBA next season. Steph says he needs to play the point a Davidson for 2 years to have a shot at the next level....BTW Butler is REALLY GOOD!
