You've just proved that he's a lib's dream. Why would they not nominate him? Now go and look at McCain's record. It's a lot longer and easier to attack from either side.

People fainting when Obama speaks. Applause when he blows his nose. What next, will he be healing people? Anyone know if he ever survived a shot to the head?

Barack's not the Anti-christ. What he is though, is a slate upon which anyone can project their hopes and aspirations. He's young, well-spoken, good-looking... who wouldnt' want that as a leader? And if he can do it -- a black kid, raised in a single-parent home in a nation scarred by prejudice and slavery -- then why can't anyone else?

However, outside all of that, he's a radical liberal. Most liberal member of the Senate. And his words range somewhere from hollow to deceptive. A Newsweek writer puts it as such:

Americans 'are tired of hearing promises made and 10-point plans proposed in the heat of a campaign only to have nothing change,' he recently said. Shortly thereafter he outlined an economic plan of at least 12 points that, among other things, would: provide a $1,000 tax cut for most two-earner families, create a $4,000 refundable tuition tax credit for every year of college" -- which is only going to cause tuition to skyrocket, a little deal made under the table between the libs and Congress and the libs that run universities -- "expand the child-care tax credit for people earning less than $50,000 and 'double spending on quality after-school programs,' and enact an 'energy plan' that would invest $150 billion in 10 years to create a 'green energy sector.'"

Now, "[w]hatever one thinks of these ideas, they're standard goody-bag politics: something for everyone. They're so similar to many Clinton proposals that her campaign put out a news release accusing Obama of plagiari[sm].... A favorite Obama line is that he will tell 'the American people not just what they want to hear but what we need to know.' Well, he hasn't so far.

Thus the statement I've made: "He's a Rock-Star in a Popularity contest".

I don't know. I really don't know.

My man Rudy's gone. Huck got my vote by default in the primary -- he won here, by the way -- but he hasn't a prayer. I may take out an ad in the paper. Something like, "CANDIDATE WANTED: somebody I can vote for without feeling all icky about it later".

As much as I admire the crazy eyes factor of LUConn's unnamed candidate, I'm leaning toward the optimistic fatalism of Monty Brewster.

it's Alan Keyes. And he's always running for president.

I like Keyes a lot even though he'll never get elected dogcatcher let alone president.

I'm watching with a great deal of glee with all of the speculation of what could happen on the Democratic side heading to the convention.
The word on the street is that the Obama campaign and New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg have already met and devised an incredible plan if Clinton wins the nominee. Mayor Bloomberg would give nearly $1 billion to Obama's campaign after which Obama would bolt from the Democratic Party and run as an independent candidate with king-maker Bloomberg as his running mate. The Obama campaign realizes that Obama is too new at this game and doesn't have the political weight of the Clintons to bring in the true heavy-hitters of the party's hierarchy. So, according to sources, it was Bloomberg himself who suggested this cunning strategy. It's mind boggling that the Clintons are willing to destroy the entire Democratic Party, and potentially in the process lose the White House and seats in Congress, for their own selfish thirst for power and glory.
