Courtney Watkins doesn’t miss games.
The former Tennessee High star has appeared in every single game Liberty University has played since she joined the Flames as a freshman in 2004.
And there was no way Watkins, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, was going to let anything stand in the way of her reaching 110 straight games played when Liberty took on East Tennessee State on Tuesday evening in a non-conference contest at Memorial Center.
"I wanted to come out here and try and put on a good show for everyone I know," said Watkins, who scored 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting, grabbed three rebounds, dished out three assists and had two steals as the Flames held on to defeat ETSU, 64-60. "There’s a sense of urgency for me right now, because this is my senior year, and it’s the last time I’ll be able to play basketball like this."
Watkins had friends, family and former Vikings teammates to play for – a sea of Liberty-red clad "Courtney!" shouters helped fill the stands.

jcmanson wrote:It's possible, but we have to remember we've only done it I think just twice. Considering how good some of our past teams were, that's quite a statement. Plus, the big south is much improved.Actually, we've run the conference table 3 times: 1998, 2003, 2004
Saying all that, I still am hoping and expecting to run the table.
