shuk is slang for "turdburgler" at LU. So he wasn't saying your name was shuk, he was trying to insult you. Very immature SJ.

No, I'm accusing him of being shuk. It's the truth.

also, for ohman to get a scholarship elsewhere or even have another school be able to legally talk to him, he would have to get his athletic release from Liberty, which means McKay would have to approve of it.
OK, I don't claim to be an expert, so if I'm wrong, correct me. Release from what?!!!! He doesn't have a scholarship. As far as I know he can talk to anyone he wants to. Even if what you are saying is true, do you honestly think RMc would refuse to release him to go somewhere he can get a scholarship which we wouldn't offer him? I think not!

you still have to get an ATHLETIC, not scholarship, release because it's illegal for an ncaa coach to contact a player at another ncaa institution. i'm not saying McKay would refuse to do so, but it's not like a coach would be setting precedent by refusing to do so.

The coach cannot INITIATE the contact, but I'm pretty sure if the athlete makes the "first move" it is OK. In either event, I think the second question I asked is legit. No way RMc would stand in the way of Kyle or any other player from pursuing a scholarship at another school if we could or would not offer him one.

Shuk, have you ever given Liberty credit for anything? Ever?
and by the way. i was impressed with the play of anthony smith. reminded me a little of josh howard, who is my favorite nba player, by the way.

Armon's name seems to be the one that comes up when we talk about players who are a waste of a scholarship, but at least he's made it onto the floor this year, and IMHO has made a little progress. There are 2 healthy scholarship players who have not yet made an appearence, while walk-ons Lafser, Layer, Spencer and Quarles have. Is it possible they are being voluntarily redshirted?

OK, I'll save those who haven't already figured it out the trouble of checking the roster.

Yes last night was a breakthrough for him

Under 1 Minute, 0 shots, 0 blocks, 0 rebounds, 2 fouls

Boy we are so lucky to have him

OF, I have to say that I've been mildly impressed with Armon this year compared to last. The 2007 version of Armon seems to be more trim, more mobile inside, with decent footwork. If that will translate into more minutes, points, and rebounds, only time will tell.

I didn't see anyone write that Armon has made any breakthroughs. At least Rmc has enough confidence to put him out on the floor a couple of minutes a game to give someone a breather. I have said before that Armon might benefit by transferring to a lower level. I can't believe I'm saying it, but the same may be true for J. Holland. He is seeing limited minutes and not playing very well. That makes 4 "possibilities". We've talked before about how we don't have enough schollies for our verbal commits unless someone leaves, and I really don't think RMc is even through recruiting for 08. We'll see.

Agreed OF--McK could likely recruit and sign someone (or several) with more ability than the current players that you have mentioned.

As the season progresses...it will be interesting to see how well the players progress...in terms of their development. Since I have not followed the team all that closely, I am wondering how good the player development process was under the previous staff...and it there is room for improvement. If so...then that will be a way in which Coach McKay can make great strides and the team can surprise with its play in-conference.

There was player development under the previous staff? Really? I didn't know that existed.

Seriously, name one player under the previous staff that got better year to year.

Leo Lightbourne
Harry Williams
Phil Ward
Jason Sarchet
Anthony Smith

and that's just off the top of my head.

Let's all quit pretending like the previous regime was running a Nazi death camp and accept that good things happened, but not enough so we got a new coach.

leo you can make a case for...but the rest are very questionable...but leo did improve, you are 100% right about that in my opinion

You can't be serious.

Armon is a walking foul.

Anthony Smith was no better last year than he was as a freshman. The jump he's made from sophomore to junior is incredible.

Look at Rell's jump shot. It's not great by any means, but it's light years from where it was under the previous staff.

Any offense that Rell gives at this point is gravy. It totally dissapeared when he arrived on-campus, he certaintly didn't score 27ppg in HS by dominating athletically. He has some good moves down low and can shoot the three as we've seen this year, he's just now got a green-light.

I will probably die trying to defend Rell but I think if we do ANYTHING in MBB this year, it's with Rell having his best season in a LU jersey.

if last night was an indication of anything, and i realize the schedule is going to get tougher when compared to last night, then anthony smith is going to be a big time baller for the Flames his final two years. i also liked the play of alex mclean, nothing fancy, but he played solid and was efficient down low with some strong moves. them two will easily be all-conference, rather both are first-team remains to be seen this early in the season. i certainly see potential in the team this year, especially if bannister can improve on his play in the first three games and the bench steps it up on a consistent basis.
