So they started dating in March. That's relatively impressive that they made it through the summer.

SuperJon wrote:Ok, no pictures today, but an even better story.

The person sitting next to me, who will remain nameless, decided to start asking these two questions. Here is a rough transcript of it:

Guy Next To Me: Are you two boyfriend and girlfriend?
d-----bag Guy: Yes.
GNTM: That's cool. I have a girlfriend. Actually she's a fiance.
d-----bag Guy: Uh, congratulations.
GNTM: Thanks. Hey, you're wearing the same color shirt. Did you plan that?
d-----bag Guy: Um...
Out Of His League Girlfriend: Yea.
GNTM: What year are you guys?
DG: Sophomores.
GNTM: What do you plan on doing when you graduate.
DG: I'm going into accounting.
GNTM: That's cool. You look like an accountant. Were you guys from the same town or something?
DG: No.
GNTM: So you met when you got here?
DG: Yea.
GNTM: How long have you been dating?
DG: (without hesitating) Around 6 months.
GNTM: You think you'll get married?
DG: (looking at her) Yea.
GNTM: So you've talked about it?
OOHLG: Yes.

Then Dr. Spohn started praying and they were clasping hands as he prayed and me and the other guy laughed hysterically. After the prayer, I said, "You know that's going on there (FF), right?" and he goes, "Yea, that's why I did it."
thats awesome. im rolling laughing over here

Wow. As noted by a poster previously this one is going to be UGLY when it ends. I say they never speak to each other again and wouldn't be suprised if one transfers so as not to see the other.

Great work. Very entertaining thread. Nice to see some things at LU are still the same. It would be interesting to track the divorce rate of LU couples vs. the population.

OUTSTANDING WORK, TODAY, SUPE! I just logged in b/c I was not expecting anything on test day. The whole back of that class will be ganging up on the MBPs (message board pets).

My wife overhead a couple of LU co-eds talking this past weekend at the women's conference...talking about why "they were here at LU." Of course, both were "here to get married" (but were majoring in accounting and business just in case they had to be self-supportive).

That's probably also a major to help them meet some RICH guys.

I don't know if you have many friends in this class, but every class time a new person should ask similar questions. Make it last for a few weeks. It would be funny to have people just comment, "I see you all over campus. You guys look so good together. Have you guys made plans to get married?" or similar comments.

SJ you continue to outdo yourself on this one. The answers are right out of "Puppy Love" land.

No, believe me, the kid that did the questions today is perfect for it. He needs to have a tv show where he goes around to random make out spots and have him ask random questions.

Im all against PDA, and true this couple has been ridiculous. I personally dont see anything wrong with the fact that they have talked about marriage. Yes its ridiculous that they matched clothes, but i dont see anything worth saying they arent going to make it? When you know you know, right? And i dont know, im not old like a majority of posters, but i dont really see anything wrong with a couple sitting on the same chair or sharing ipod headphones while sitting somewhere.

In the same computer chair, with other chairs around? You don't mind that but you don't like PDA? Hmm...

As for the marriage thing, it's not that it's them, it's that it's so typical of the cliche'd LU couple.

Come on! There is obviously something WRONG with sharing the same chair.

you're from the day of the 16 or so clab computers aren't you? Those were crazy times. The line to get on a computer in between classes was like a 25 minute wait minimum.

I saw our favorite couple today in the courtyard. She was cuddling with him, with her head on his shoulder, while he was reading a textbook to her. Very sad.

I only make the prediction of failure because of my experience at Liberty from the mid to late 90's. Most couples that I was around at Liberty that felt they needed to "literally" be one person (share one chair, share headphones, share food, share classes, share laundry, lay on top of each other while doing "devotions", constantly touching each other to the point of making everyone around them uncomfortable, share every waking minute around each other, etc.), rarely ever made it long term. Their relationships became such an outward show, there wasn't much depth to them as a couple. The vast majority of couples, from my days at LU, that felt that they must have their hands all over each other, at every opportunity, never made it long term. Most ended BITTERLY. I like when people bring up marriage, because it usually scares one and the other is ALL over it. It really tests their love IMO.

I don't want to poo poo anyone's relationship, but I just saw a pattern with similar behavior that seemed to always end in disaster. Often to the point that one or both were deeply wounded. I'm sure there are exceptions though.

Ditto Belcher's comments.

Most times those that have no life outside each other (ie wear the same colored shirt, go EVERYWHERE together, are all over each other) have trouble when one finally wants to be a "me" instead of constantly a "we". Can you spell C O D E P E N D E N T ? I saw this play out over and over at LU and since I still work with teenagers I see it some today. I hope they do well but my money is on a bitter break up for these two either pre or post marriage vows. Seen it too many times...
