Reports are out today that the McCain campaign has requested personal documents from Eric Cantor (R-VA) for possible VP vetting. Cantor appears to be a solid conservative, strong proponent of drilling on the outer shelf and a vocal opponent to right to life issues (National Right to Life rating of 100% and NARAL rating of 0%). While a VP pick has done little in the past to boost a potential President's electability in a particular state or with a particular segment of voters, if selected, Cantor would be the first Jewish VP and could add bolster the Republican turnout in Virginia.
