Everyone around LU knows the greatest Armchair Coach (me) since Jerry Falwell has a pretty good feel for these things. Sitting back and watching this team play, the call feels simple: LU 79, Miners 62.

The Flames are in a groove right now. They’re defending, sharing the ball, and doing the little things that turn close games into comfortable wins. The Miners will have their moments, but LU finds answers when it matters — they always seem to.

When it’s over, the Flames walk away with another solid win and push the streak to nine straight. No drama, no overthinking it — just a team playing good basketball and an Armchair Coach nodding like he saw it coming all along.

Once again, we do what we have to do to beat a team we should be beating. This run is really starting to get fun. Dare I say a tad reminiscint of the experience just before COVID struck? I am starting to feel that way.

Doesn’t seem likely but if we could get ihnen back toward the end of the season even if it’s just 10-15 minutes a game off the bench that would really help some of our size and depth issues.

He hasn't looked like he was in pain or favoring anything as he walked. This would be a very pleasant surprise.

Uh, nope, you don’t get to take credit for something you never said.

I remember some self-appointed close source saying someone was out for the season. Which is it? I’m so confused.

Ah yes, jbroc13—another LU armchair coach wannabe. Funny thing though: the unappointed LU armchair coach (me) was the one who said someone was out for the season… and that turned out to be correct.

Just a reminder that the original LU armchair coach (also me) is pretty well informed. For the record, Ihnen has a torn ACL. After the 1/4/26 game, he told me himself in the McKay’s Court tunnel that he was headed to Birmingham, AL to see a top knee specialist (Andrews).

But hey—feel free to keep coaching from the armchair you are fitting right in.
