So I was checking my email and apparently our discussion has garnered the attention of the Center4ME:
This morning I read through two pages of posts regarding LU's Black History Month (BHM) calendar. Well, it started out about the BHM calendar, but ended and still continues as an argument over whether racism still exists in America/Liberty/LCA. I am not giving all of the posts their justice, but I came back to the original question of this thread/forum..."Is Liberty embracing Malcolm X?". For those of you who have not seen the BHM calendar there is a picture of Malcolm X (along with 14 other historical figures) and one of the BHM events is Civil Rights Week, in which on the last day there will be a discussion of Malcolm X and what he did in the area of civil rights. Now, I am just going to ask another question in response to the original post - "Is Liberty embracing education?". And the answer is emphatically YES, we are an institution of higher education and it should be the expectation of all students (and alumni) to be exposed to historical matters. Lively discussions that will further help us understand and get along with one another in the common bond of Christ is always the goal in the Center4ME.
