Does anybody know of any recent grads in the Business/Accounting/MIS areas who are looking for a job? We have one position open in the banking/auditing field in Richmond. Please contact me if you know of anyone. This is a great opportunity to add valuable experience.

I would prefer a Liberty alum.

Make it a position in Lynchburg and I'd jump at it. Wait, this isn't the position you're going to cut soon, is it?

Haha, nope. We got things squared away. It is based out of Richmond though.

Because you got sucked into the black hole like 90% of Liberty students and graduates.

If 90% of Liberty students and graduates remained in the 'burg, the 'burg would be much larger.

In recent years, definitely. I'm not sure Lynchburg could even hold 90% of graduates in the last few years. In the early to mid 90s, maybe so. I am shocked at how many former classmates, many of whom lived off campus and talked about how much they couldn't wait to get out of Lynchburg, are still there.

But this is not unique to Liberty/Lynchburg. I know a number of friends/acquaintances who have settled all around the country near where they went to school. With those who do, sometimes the stay is temporary.

Personally, I left Lynchburg after my undergraduate degree (May 98). I moved back to get my master's degree. While our desire is to move closer to my wife's family in Michigan, we love Lynchburg. I turned a job down yesterday which would have moved us closer to "home," but after reflection 1) the job wasn't right and 2) Lynchburg remained a better option.

We have debated "settling" down here. If I am ever able to get a job, we might do so. Until then, I look for work from here to there and back again.

There are way too many of my friends who are still at Liberty. I loved going to school there, and love visiting, and would love being there, but at the same time, I also love life outside of Liberty.
