Every now and then I still listen to parts of Sturm's show from Dallas in podcast form. From an LU standpoint, the sportsline really went downhill when he left. RR denies having any anti-LU bias, but once he was making the decisions, there was almost no discussion of anything LU related until our Athletic Department started buying advertising time on WLNI.

I for one think there is a market for a show with a bit more of a local flavor than RR and Larry did, where LU, and some limited local HS sports (maybe even LC) are all open for discussion as well as UVA, Tech, the ACC as a whole, and professional and college sports of national interest.

Another interesting concept would be an on-air version of FF, where LU athletics are the centerpiece, but other sports, as well as non sports related topics of local or national interest would be included.

i agree with the stipulation....it depends completly on who is hosting/co-hosting.......

I did a song the year Tech moved out of the Big East to the ACC to the tune of Garth Brooks "Friends in Low Places".

I didn't win the UVA/Tech tickets, but I did get a copy of NHL 0something for my XBOX.

(My lyrics would pass the Liberty Way test, haha - it was a very clean song).

I did one for two years and then stopped to help Rich and Larry when we went to syndication... I am looking forward to tomorrow, if you are a Hokie or a Wahoo fan make sure you get there early... The place will be packed!!!

i agree with the stipulation....it depends completly on who is hosting/co-hosting.......

And how much leverage those co-hosts get... 'cuz if the show isn't allowed to get good footing because people don't want other shows looking bad by comparison, well then you're stuck.
