God create Adam and then Eve, man and woman for his purpose and plan to reproduce and have offsprings, he didn't create Adam and Bob as that was not his choice. I believe homosexuality is a choice. Now with that said, I believe when a homosexual molests a young boy, then for the young boy it is not the young boy's choice and I hate the pain and suffering that young boy will endure for the rest of his life. So in that case you can say that young boy was not born homosexual if he becomes a homosexual. Can he get out of it easily, that I don't know? Not sure as fortunately I have never been molested by a man.
Could a homosexual get saved and commit that sin again in his lifetime? I believe so, he could slip, would he still be saved. I believe yes.
I guess all you can do is pray for the homosexuals that they will get saved. My 2 cents worth. The difference between homosexuality during my time at LBC was it was a shame in society. Today it is like a badge of honor. When man turns to man for marriage, etc, then he is turning his back on God and the purpose of marriage.
Good stuff. 8)

Well wasn't this about gay people coming out? They would be known if they came out.

I used to work in social work and new quite a few gay people. This is a funny story: I was a case worker for a guy and was getting to know him (he was clearly gay) and he began telling me about going to a gay pride parade in Toronto. I was saying how I would like to visit Toronto someday and how cool I heard the city was. He then began saying, "Great! You are totally welcome to come up to the next parade with us. It will be great!" I had to somehow tell him I wasn't gay, I just wanted to visit the city. Very awkward conversation! I've been hit on by a gay guy before as well (in the drive through at a Tim Hortons up here in Detroit). VERY awkward to say the least!!
also its funny how when a gay guy talks to someone it is usually constrewed as getting hit on. one thing the queers got on us is their love of messing with us heteros....

Well I was told by my boss that I was to avoid working with him due to some unusual requests being made from him for my services. So it seems my gaydar was working in this case.

The point is, if there is just a 1% chance that an "out of the closet" gay guy will hit on you, could you still comfortably undress and dress in front of him? That is what I believe bothers these professional athletes.

They get stared at for a living! In any case, shouldn't these well-sculpted, muscled people be the most well-equipped should someone try to get frisky with them? Just judging by the number of times I've heard threats of physical beatdowns on the court, I'd think that at least they think they are.

Sounds good to me, but everyone is not like you. If I knew an openly homosexual man was standing next to me in a locker room, I may consider changing in a different area. You can't blame someone for feeling that way. That is what I think Tim Hardaway was trying to say in a very poor way.

I must say I've never undressed in front of a homosexual man and don't really know how I would react in that situation. I just think I might feel a bit awkward about it and would avoid the situation at all costs.

Yeah, they can defend themselves and be sued or put in prison for it. Why should they be forced to put themselves in that situation?

I'd flex for him and then proceed to pee in the shower.

What situation? I was being facetious. Last I heard, Zed and The Gimp are not wandering around NBA locker rooms. So there's gay people in the locker room, so what? There might be gay people at your local YMCA or your doctor's office, too. (I know I just freaked out somebody on this board big time) I would say that, most of us in the general hetero population and gays alike understand where the lines of sexual harassment are and how to keep ourselves from getting in trouble over those who are in no way interested in us.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm constantly having to defend myself from women throwing themselves at me. It seems like everywhere I go they're trying to rip my clothes off and do who knows what with me. I can't imagine what would have happened if I had ever come accross anybody gay. Assuming that this is your typical gay man, I think I'd have trouble keeping a ripped 280 pound steel worker off of me. As soon as he got out of his Saab, and I saw he was only wearing UnderArmor and chaps I'd be outta there so fast.

Are we still discussing Tim Hardaway and the NBA? I am simply pointing out the fact that I can understand why a professional athlete might not like dressing and undressing in front of an openly gay man. I'm just wondering if anyone else gets naked in front of openly homosexual men on a consistant basis (80+ games a year in the NBA if someone came out of the closet). I'm sure it would end up not being a big deal, but I can understand why most would opt to not be in that situation if given the choice. I could even understand why most would fight it. There is no way to tell whether someone gets hit on/gawked at/etc. If it were to happen (or perceived to happen) just once to the wrong guy, it could destroy a career or two.

I don't think you will see an openly gay man come out in a high end professional team sport for a LONG time to come. I just don't think it would do anything but hurt that man and the team he plays for.

As Michael Jackson used to say: "Keep it in the closet, awwww!"

But it's fun to stay at the YMCA! I can hang out with all the boys. Next you'll say that the Village People are gay. That would really blow my mind!!

Yep, along with 1/2 of Manudo, 2/3 of Milli Vanilli, 3/4 of Abba and Up With People in its entirety.

Note: the preceding statement was entirely made up. Except for the Up With People part. So...very very gay.

its because they see the first name, then the first letter of your last name and it then is a case of mistaken identity

My biggest problem is when you pack as much heat as I pack away, you don't want to pull that baby out if front of someone who cannot handle it. 8)

Ok, I waited for some of this to die down before I weighed in.
At least we know where Tim Hardaway stands. There are so many people who say that they "support" gays, but privately do not. I would much rather have it out in the open. I do agree with Ameche when he says it is offensive to be "tolerated". It is sort of a sense of splitting hairs, but if you think about it, that term is sort of offensive. Do I have to "tolerate" heterosexuals? No, I accept them for who they are. Do you have to "tolerate" me? No, but just accept who I am. Here is something to think on: Homosexuals have to see public displays of affection from Heterosexuals, but yet they get bent out of shape when homosexuals do the same. A quick peck on the cheeck gets and "Awwwww" but if two guys or two women (ok maybe not two women!) you hear "eeewwww".
Hardaway has every right to say what he wants. He also must accept the consequences for his speech. This happens on both sides of the coin. When someone like Martina Navratalova came out, she lost tons of sponsorship dollars.
It is like anything else in life. There are consequences to your actions. If you dont think you can handle the consequences than just don't take that action ("coming out" or "speaking out")
