SCSU proves the case in point the the selection committee is has sound rhyme or reason that they can back their choices with. It's a land of folly that they toss teams to and fro based on their own power struggle. Postman, you really need to go look at the MEAC and SCST in particular because what your saying is absolutely ridiculous.
-For instance SAV state, NC A&T, NC Central, Norfolk State, Delaware State....let's compare this to the big south, that's the underbelly of the big south i.e VMI, Presby, CSU, GWU....Clearly the BIG south's underbelly is vastly superior. SC State was tested twice this year and failed both times. We were tested 5 times and went 2 and 3 (all 3 losses on the road). Plus I dont know that you can really say Bethune Cookman is all that great anyway.
Also, this year I completely disagree with the notion that we didn't do enough and it's just a SCSU team that shouldn't have been in. As we have been saying for the past 3 or 4 weeks, there were just not that many distinguising resumes this year. Outside of the top 7 to 8 teams noyone had a lot of quality wins. Now, if you want to give the CAA a bit of bump up for playing mostly tough teams then that is legit. However, most of the other conferences are the same. I thought Rocco made a great point when he said if your going to ovverride the polls then why even have the stupid poll if your going to leapfrog teams ahead of teams that are higher in the polls. This is ridiculous this year. A LOT of teams in the tourney this year had as many or more BAD losses than we did.
Finally, this is another great reason to push towards FBS so that you don't deal with these frauds running the committee.
Are we out of the Big South yet
