The naysayers don't get a followup season to see if he fails. No matter where he goes and what happens, it will be different and you'll never know what would have happened.
No, it hasn't. Look at the teams who were in the running for Manning:
Arizona, Miami, Washington, Denver and Seattle to a very small extent. One thing all of these teams have in common, terrible QB's. No one with a legitimate young QB was looking at Peyton Manning.
Tebow's "legend" will end with losing the starting job to an old QB and then four terrible years in Jacksonville before being cut. If more teams were going after Manning, you may have a point. Or if teams were lining up for Tebow, you could also have a point. Yet no one wants Tebow except for Jacksonville might. Additionally, the only reason they will take him is because he sells tickets. If you look at the events transpiring, it's clear that anyone with any knowledge in the NFL doesn't want Tebow and it's clear why.
Thinking that Tebow will have a great legend because Denver brought in Manning, is ignorance at it's best. It's the most wishful thinking I've ever seen. He had a ton of hype for about 6-8 weeks and then got destroyed. Remember who else had a bunch of hype for half-a-season? Rex Grossman. If wins are the end all be all of QB's, then is Grossman not an excellent QB since he "took" a team to a Superbowl?
