I know for a fact that probably 75-80% of the student body(at least) has no clue about the real workings of our teams. Most of them wouldn't be able to name the coaches.

Hold My Own wrote:2 things....1st for the first time in my life, I didnt want to go to a football game last year and felt it would take 1-2 years to get me excited again about LU Football, but honestly I've never been this excited and that turn around was only in a few months...i'd love to hear one person that is willing to say that letting Karcher go and getting Rocco wasn't the best move....I cant tell you how long it's been since we've gotten this type of transfers and talent....it's a good time to be a Liberty Football fan

2nd....SuperJon, I agree that nobody in the LU student body understands because they just dont know....something I've thought about is printing off hundreds of little slips that only says www.flamefans.com and just putting them on the boards around school...We need more student involvement (to many "old hags" on here :D )
Well you got ATrain, myslef and Super Jon at least...Im sure we could help getting those slips on the boards for ya (being LU students and all)

It was the same at Coastal. We were ranked this past season and 90% of the students didn't know. They'd rather go to the beach or something. Some kids don't care about sports and that's perfectly understandable. I'm a sports management major so of course, I'm around the kids that do care a lot.

Winning will cure all. Just look at the basketball programs. When the men were on top of the league back in the Myers era, the crowds and school enthusiasm was awesome. A few years of Mel and the student body lost interest. Picked up when Coach D came in and won. Football will pick up, too. As much of a pessimist as I am, I am excited about next year.

Rocco Adds Three To Roster With January Transfers

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty University head football coach Danny Rocco has announced the addition of three new players to the team’s roster as former Pittsburgh running back Rashad Jennings, former Virginia Tech linebacker Stevie Ray Lloyd and former East Carolina offensive lineman Zach Davis have transferred to the university for the spring semester and all will be eligible to compete next year.

Zach Davis, OL, r-So., 6-4, 274, Jacksonville, Fla.
Davis is transferring to Liberty from East Carolina where he played all 11 games this past season as a redshirt freshman. His primary responsibilities were as a member of the special teams where he blocked on extra point attempts and on the field goal unit. Davis also was a reserve member of the offensive line, helping the Pirates average 137.5 yards rushing per game, while the team finished the year with 17 rushing touchdowns.
Davis played his prep football career at Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Fla. where he was named to the first-team Class A All-State squad by the Florida Sports Writer’s Association and was clocked at the 4.9 in the 40-yard dash.
An exercise science major, Davis was named to the ECU Director of Athletics Honor Roll during the spring of 2005, while the offensive lineman comes from an athletic family as he is the son of former Major League Baseball pitcher Storm Davis.

Rashad Jennings, RB, So., 6-1, 235, Forest, Va.

Jennings is transferring to Liberty from Pittsburgh where he finished second on the Panther’s roster by rushing for 411 yards and a touchdown as a true freshman. He led the squad by averaging 51.4 yards rushing in eight games, including a season-best 102 yards and a score against Cincinnati
Jennings started the season opener against Notre Dame and rushed for 29 yards on seven carries in his first collegiate game. The rookie became just the fourth true freshman to start a season-opening game at Pittsburgh (also Tony Dorsett (1973), Brandon Williams (1998) and Raymond Kirkley (2001)).
Jennings is no stranger to the greater Lynchburg area as the running back recently finished up a stellar career as a two-year starter at tailback and linebacker at Lynchburg Christian Academy. He rushed for a combined 3,287 yards and 56 touchdowns and was a two-time first-team All-Virginia (Division 2), two-time first-team All-Virginia Independent Conference and two-time Lynchburg News & Advance all-area selections.

Stevie Ray Lloyd, LB, r-Jr., 5-11, 234, Lynchburg, Va.
Lloyd is transferring to Liberty from Virginia Tech where he played five games this past season, helping the Hokies to a 11-2 overall record, including a 35-24 victory over 15th-ranked Louisville in the Toyota Gator Bowl.
Last year, Lloyd saw action in all 13 games, recording 11 tackles as a redshirt freshman, seeing significant playing time as a member of the Hokies’ special teams unit, while also serving as a reserve member of the linebacking corps.
Lloyd will be returning home to the Lynchburg area where he was a standout linebacker and fullback at Jefferson Forest High School. He was an all-area, all-district, all-region and all-state selection as a linebacker during his senior season as he finished the year with 165 tackles, nine sacks, seven fumble recoveries and two interceptions.
Lloyd finished his prep career with 477 tackles, helping him receive such honors as Seminole District Defensive Player of the Year and Lynchburg News & Advance Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.

Here we go, I will have more news tonight... I have to wait for a while to release it....

This list of transferes would be a great place to start as we rebuild. Nice to see that an OL decided to join us. Could use a few more of these as well as a great recruiting class. This is certainly reason to be exited considering how bad things were this year.

My response to "why Liberty"? is. . . . ., "why not Liberty?!"
