Fauci Birx and Adams also have quotes out there saying the exact opposite for various reasons. What we don’t see is the why behind it. There are hard scientific facts out there about what masks can and cannot do. I’ve posted a couple. Why or how does The Rona act different to make these studies invalid?
There is a lot of reliance on modeling, and early on I get that. But as we have more data the guidelines are not jiving with reality. For instance, Adams has switched his position because of literature out there saying “..estimate that up to 40% of coronavirus infections could be transmitted by people who have the virus but no symptoms“. When that first appeared I absolutely sat up and took notice because that is a game changer. However, those figures were based on modeling and the real world data is suggesting that it is in fact extremely rare to transmit if you are asymptomatic.

I used this link because even the headline is misleading once you get in to the article.
Fauci comes from a branch of medicine that would be ok with the entire world walking around in a hermetically sealed bubble. That’s just the nature of his discipline. Nothing nefarious about it. He also is not the worlds leading expert and there are colleagues who disagree with him.
Trump is just being Trump with that quote and he’s not wrong. When I was visiting my mom I absolutely wore a mask the proper way because she checks a lot of risk factor boxes. But going to Lowe’s? I don’t see the benefits
