Frankly I am surprised that the Hyles folks that run FFF listed LU in a forum. A quarter century ago, Cedarville battled BJU, TTU and the other GARBC schools (i.e. BBC-Clark Summit, PA, Faith in Ankeny, IA, Grand Rapids Baptist, Spurgeon) for students. Under the direction of James T. Jeremiah (David's dad) they flourished and then gained major momentum when TTU alum Paul Dixon took over the school. After Jeremiah's retirement, the GARBC slowly began distancing itself until a few years ago when they dropped support altogether. WV was squarely in the regional drawing area of students for Cedarville so my guess is that you had some BJU folks on staff (even back then the Bob Jones crowd considered Cedarville liberal because of their less intense dress code).
While technically not a sister school, Cedarville certainly is a kindred spirit. But they have primarily focused on attracting Midwest students while thanks to Dr. Falwell's television influence we have had a national base.
