About eight young dogs were put to death at the Surry County home after they were found not ready to fight in April 2007, the indictment said. They were killed "by hanging, drowning and/or slamming at least one dog's body to the ground."

I dislike Michael Vick as much as the next guy, but maybe we should consider the possibility that he is really not involved. Don't get me wrong, I'll be shocked if he is not involved, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt until the evidence against him is presented.

agreed IB. i have never been a vick or VT fan, and though it looks like things are stacked against him, the judicial process needs to play out. this conduct policy that roger goodale instituted was really for repeat offenders. vick's only mark against him is the airport bottle incident. i really do not think he will be suspended by the NFL though the pressure to do so will be immense. i would think it would be more likely that arthur blank would suspend him. just my opinion.

I agree with you (minus the not being a fan of Vick or VT). However, it does seem that a more negative image of him has been portrayed in the media the past couple of seasons...starting when he flipped his own fans the bird. If he doesn't get convicted, he should use that as a start to begin cleaning up his image.

Look, I know there is a lot of circumstantial evidence being reported by the media....just like there was a lot of circumstantial evidence reported by the media about the Duke lacrosse players. This is why we have a judicial system. We don't just read an article in the paper and go hang a guy. Like I said, I'll be shocked if he is not guilty, but let's not burn the guy at the stake until all the evidence is in and made public.

agreed IB. sometimes the sarcasm on this board is ridiculous. as i said before the odds are stacked against him. the feds usually do not indict unless they have the evidence, but sometimes things fall through. yes if convicted he should pay the ultimate price by the law. again the judicial system must take its course. if it was up to some on this board, he would already be behind bars. for the record i think he is guilty but we will all have to see how it plays out.

I'm glad you are allowing for due process, but truly "innocent until proven guilty" is a guideline for the judicial system not the court of public opinion. I am 100% entitled to and protected to voice my opinion.

Knucklehead, im not here to argue. all im saying he he is innocent until proven guilty. yes the odds are stacked against him. and yes a federal indictment usually means they have enough evidence, but again, it is not always 100%. yeah under the court of public opinion he would be in jail already, but that is not how it works, so you can drop all the stats you want to, but until he is convicted...he is innocent. those are the facts and are indisputable. and of course you can have your opinion. no one said you cannot. That is what makes the world go round.

Umm, yes! You absolutely should! You see, I cut my grass quite often and I think I would notice something like that in the back yard. If I knew about it and didn't do anything, I would be guilty, no?

By the way, judgement calls are made about random people every day on here. Why are people so quick to defend MV when the poor smurfs from PC are getting bashed all day?

Not arguing! Just wanted to point out that we the people are not in any way responsible to hold Vick or any other defendant innocent until proven guilty unless we are on the jury! It is not a indisputable fact either. It is simply the law for the court system not me, you, or a columnist. I actually hope it's all a nightmare and it's not true, but the facts so far point otherwise.
Actually when I said above that he would never play another NFL down I meant something entirely different. Let's face it, he has NEVER become the player he should be. He has also done no maturing as a person either. So, IMHO no matter what happens he will never be the same again. No one will look at him the same way. No one will want to be associated with him. He is done.

knuckle...you just do not listen. i said until he is convicted he is innocent! that is a FACT! that is indisputable!! innocent until proven gulity under a court of law. yes i know a jury will convict provided they have the evidence, which it seems like they do. i personally do not care about his career, because i have never like him, but that is not the point. 01grad, i cannot speak for IB, but this is what the courts are for, and im sure it will all play out. he is not defending vick nor am i. the good old judicial system will either convict or not convict, simple as that. i have said my peace on this. have a good day.

The thing that bugs me is everyone says this is his first offense. It's his first offense he's been charged with. Look at the other stuff he's done:

a) Ron Mexico
b) Flipping off the fans
c) The water bottle

You don't buy a water bottle with a hidden compartment just because it looks cool.
