Our entire team drive up to Galax for hitting lessons from him. If he can't teach you to hit, you don't need to play baseball.

More from the Roanoke fishwrap in a story about the new Radford coach:
He got a chance to take a look at not only pitcher and Radford High graduate Abram Williams -- enrolled at Liberty University but never signed to an NCAA letter of intent there -- but also prospects such as power hitters Joey Phillips of Blacksburg and Steven Keener of Covington, both rising seniors.

Raccuia plans to be at the four-team Commonwealth Games in Salem this weekend. All those players, hand-picked for those teams, were juniors or younger last high school season.

You know, I'm not going to say that Lou Kent was doing a great job with what he had because I really don't know that much about the situation; but this has gotta suck for him. He struggles along for years, underpaid, with poor facilities and without full scholarship quotas, no doubt asking for all of the above year after year. Then they can him and hire a new guy, who immediatly gets double the salary, full quota of scholarships and promises for facility upgrades. It just seems somehow wrong.

It appears Abram got that scholarship from Radford:
Legion note: Pitcher Abram Williams, an All-Timesland choice this year, has signed to play for Radford University. Williams had enrolled at Liberty University and planned to play baseball but never signed a letter of intent with the Flames. New Radford coach Joe Raccuia was hired last week and saw Williams play that night. Williams signed soon thereafter.
