I was exiting out of the Target parking lot last night onto Ward's road, and a teenage girl pulled out of the McDonalds lot right in front of me. Then she proceeded to swerve back and forth between lanes in front of me. When she finally picked a lane I pulled beside her to turn the other way. She was leaning against the Driver's side window staring at her cell phone and talking into it. I hate this. The funny part is that she obviously had it on speaker and yet she still had to stare at it.

I'd be lying if I said I've never talked on the cell in the car. However, I never lose focus on driving. This is getting really old and really prevelant. I almost got wrecked 2 times on 64 on the way to Busch Gardens recently.

I guess the issue is folks who don't have enough of a mind to multi task. They only have enough RAM to do 1 thing at a time. I can't take it anymore!!

i talk on the phone while driving all the time, but i try not to text while im driving b/c its dangerous. i'm pretty good driving while talking except that when i'm takin off from a light its complicated to hold the wheel with my knee while i change gears with my free hand, but i'm pretty good at it now

you'd never know i'm doing it. plus, thats a straight shot, so it goes straight naturally. the people in the burg are bad drivers as a whole. more specifically, the women. how can someone drive so bad with both hands on the wheel and no distractions?

I drive better with my knees than some people do with both hands at 10-and-2.

However, a lot of people do not need to be on cell phones while driving...some can't stay in their lane, others move WAY too slowly and speed up when they hang up, and yet others have both problems.

The last time I got a new cell, I read the manual on the way home. Probably not the smartest thing I could have done but I was flushed w/ confidence that, if anything did happen, I would at least be able to call somebody.

Say what you will, but 9 times out of 10 when I see someone do something completely boneheaded on the road, I subsequently notice a phone stuck to their head. In fact, sometimes I honk at people on cell phones even when they're sitting still. It distracts them from their conversation at least long enough to think about driving for a second.

I drive with one hand anyways. I don't have to look at the phone to text message. I'm still looking at the road, I'm still driving with my hands, why is that so bad?

Your equipment was so antiquated that the manuals no longer existed. I heard that you tried to re-order them once only to find out that the Pony Express could no longer deliver them.

My training was all OTJ and went something like this:

Lawan / Morris: "Let me show you the equipment. Blah blah blah. " --- 15 seonds later --- "Blah blah blah. And that's it."
Me: "What does this red button do?"
Lawan / Morris: "Um, let me ask Will. Hey, Will, what does the red button do?"
Will: "I don't know! Now, leave me alone with my action figures!"

I'm driving. I'm driving. Remember the people around me." No, if you're halfway normal (which I know you are) you're thinking, "Hey, this is a good song. I wonder what I'm doing this weekend. Man it's really hot outside."

Never accuse me of being halfway normal. I am far from normal, and the "Driving driving driving. Car to my left. Car in front of me. I'm driving. I'm driving. Remember the people around me." quote isn't far off. I do get distracted (a lot) but not on a regular basis.

Look, I'm not your daddy (thankfully), so do what you want, but look out for the rest of us please. My wife and kids are on the road a bunch, and I hope they never get hit by a one handed driver with the other hand (and half a mind) texting.

I'm always careful. If I'm merging into traffic, I'll tell whoever I'm talking to to hang on so I can check my blind spots and all of that. If it's hectic or congested, I tell them I'll call them back.

It's like everything else: there's nothing wrong with it when done smart and under control.

I am just like SJ when it comes to texting but I try to do it a stop lights....I drive just fine while talking on my phone, I normally use my bluetooth but I am in the process of getting a new and that helps out a ton...Now if you are a baller like my DAD SCAR is then it's connected through your car and you just talk outloud and just look ahead at the road
