Rulin' the Cube
By Josie Roberts
TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Thursday, June 21, 2007
It's the impossible puzzle, an icon of the '80s and a child's toy making a dramatic comeback in a competitive niche.
It's the Rubik's cube.
Manipulating a jumbled 3x3x3 block into six color-coordinated sides is like climbing Mt. Everest -- it's a crowning achievement, universally admired.
For Jason Baum, 20, of Bethel Park, solving a Rubik's Cube is the easy part.
Jason Baum of Bethel Park placed third in the National Rubik's Cube Competition.
James Knox/Tribune-Review
On Sunday, Baum placed third in the Rubik's Cube U.S. Open held at the City of Chicago's Art of Play event.
His average time: 15.25 seconds.

Incredible (and completely beside the point)

I know how to do a Rubik's cube. It normally take me about 10 minutes though

same here. You break it apart and snap all the pieces back together. 2 min, tops.
Option 2 is to remove the stickers entirely and redo them- the problem is they never go back on very nicely, and the corners all stay flipped up.
