Give it time:) I don't think the move was one sided. WLNI isn't on the strongest ground right now. The FM signal will help, but until the deal is finalized, it cannot be turned on.

really? I figured WLNI had a monopoly on everything local, pretty much. Their closest competitor would be WBRG I think and that's just some rinky dink AM station.

I can now hear the sportsline great here in Halifax on 106.3.

For those of you that don't know...I was in the song parody contest a few years ago...I sang a song making fun of VA Tech leaving the Big East to join the ACC (remember...Miami shouldn't leave...we're suing...Oh never mind, we're leaving too). It was a parody of Garth Brook's "Friends in low places". I still have it saved as an .MP3 if anyone really wants to hear it.

Fumble - 1320/1240 will not switch hands until paperwork is all done. Not paperwork for a tower in TN is holding things up with Clear Channel.

LUConn - My Partner in Prototype Media - Gary Burns, who owns the radio staions used to own 105.9. Built it up and then sold it 3 years ago to Centenial. The signal is strong, but the business operations are weak in my opinion. Sales are down considerably since the change in ownership and things are very unstable.

What type of changes are expected with 1240/1320? The Roanoke paper alluded to some...
Last fall, 3 Daughters Media of Forest bought WGMN and five other stations from Clear Channel Communications, including WVGM-AM in Lynchburg. The sale is near completion. Adding "The Sportsline" is just one of the changes WGMN's new owner is making.

There could even more live shows added to the programing that are more Virginia Focused.

Other that - I don't know. I know Gary would like to expand the reach of the ESPN signals.

Bring "The Box" out of retirement!

Eh, maybe not. Rocketfan and I stank up the airwaves during our tenure there, four years of rust probably hasn't made things better.

(Well, if you thought we sucked, you shoulda listened to it before).
