Everyone accuses Dunton of not making players better or being lax in player development.

Care to elaborate.

I'm not defending him, I thought it was time for change, but the accusations seem vague. It seems to me the players have a lot to do with not making themselves better. :?

Boy is this out of the blue. Is it to late to delete this before a wild fire breaks loose!

At some point we have to let the past go. If your a supporter of Coach Dunton then you feel he was treated unfair, well the matter of fact is life's unfair. If you didnt support Dunton then you feel like the right move was made. Either way we need to move on and this is only a cancer that we need to cure now. There are many that did support him (as they should have because he was appointed a head coaching position at a University you support) yet still feel the right move was made. Remember the words of the leader in the Athletic Department there is more to it than wins and losses.

To answer your question on player development: Name one player that got better from their freshman year to whatever year they were at the change. You can't do it.

He asked a question, I gave an answer. I didn't rip the guy (which, after stuff that's coming out, it's very easy to do) but gave an answer.

Anthony Smith, without a doubt.

Big Russ Monroe seems to have improved each year. And even you have acknowledged this.

Larry Blair really did improve from year to year. It's just hard sometimes to see it that way because he was surrounded by so many team-oriented players during his freshman year: Gabe Martin, Brian Woodson, Ryan Mantlo, and Jason Sarchet. LB's shooting % improved every year despite being the constant focus of the offense. I would have loved to have seen LB as a senior playing with Martin, Dees, Mantlo, Woodson, Sarchet and Sneed.

I'm not sure this is a productive discussion. Personally I am appreciative to Coach Dunton for his hard work for the school and program.

If you thought Smitty was better (other than just physical growth) this year than his freshman year you're crazy.

Sly, I'm right with you. I am very appreciative to Dunton for his time and hard work spent at and for Liberty, but he is not here anymore. McKay is.

But see, the thing is, you can't just move on from someone like that. You are left with what he created and left to have to deal with things, behind the scenes, that can make anyone with even the smallest knowledge of NCAA rules cringe.

Am I?

Smith went from a 37% shooter from the field to 49% shooter last year! He improved from 28% from behind the arc to 39%. And he improved his assist to turnover ratio from -.04 to +1.0.

Without a doubt, these are radically drastic improvements.

If you spent more time watching the game rather than Dunton, then you most likely would have noticed it. It was kinda hard to miss

Ok, I'll give you that his numbers are better. I wasn't looking at simply numbers (as dumb as that sounds). There were games last year where Anthony Smith was nowhere to be found.

Russ has improved more in the past few months than he did in the past three years. Smitty has gotten so much better lately it's flat out scary.

We're going to be good.

Sounds like a personal problem.

I'd like to help you, but , I'm almost certain that the university provides counseling for that

Good luck. With the stuff that's going to come out, we'll be talking about him for a while.

For what it's worth, and not that Dunton didn't have anything to do with this, but McKay is calling Anthony a "pro" right now. Surely, thats a combination of putting some confidence and talking up the players but that is certainly high praise for Mr. Smith.
