In the spirit of Memorial Day and cookouts, what is your favorite way to prepare a hot dog?

Cooking
Fried?
Boiled?
Grilled--charcoal or gas?

Condiments
Onions?
Chilli?
Mustard (yellow or spicy brown)?
Relish (yellow or pickle)?
Cole Slaw?
or regional condiments like krawt, baked beans, tomatoes, etc.?

Bread
regular buns
New England-style that looks like a roll
white bread (poor man's version)

And do you have a favorite type or brand name of hot dog? (fill in the blank)

Grilled...doesn't matter...or "rolled" like at a convenience store.

Mayo, Chili, and Cheese. On a NE-Style roll.

At ball parks...a good ballpark frank needs no condiments...will eat them plain with a bun.

Ballpark franks...bun length.

Cheese and ketchup are perfect condiments for me.

My favorite is a charcoal grilled (almost burned) dog with onions, chilli, spicy brown mustard, yellow relish, & cole slaw on a NE-style bun.

Only if I have chili. Otherwise, Catsup and Mustard. On the grill...border-lined burned...with crispy outside.

Lynchburg Hillcats hotdogs (except the ones for Tuesday night) are the best.
As far as condiments, normally what I do (when my mom or dad cooks them) is:
Chili, slaw, mayo, ketchup, mustard, onions, relish

And just normal hot dog buns work for me

i havent tried it, but i think maybe some grilled onions would add a nice heartburn kick.

I like them almost everyway. If I am buying them to cook at home, usually I buy the expensive stuff, because there is a big difference in taste. Either Nathan's, or Hebrew National.

I'll take grilled with Chili or fried, split and between two slices of honey wheat bread (a favorite way to prepare them in this house)

Brandwise, I like Hebrew National or Oscar Mayer

I had my favorites tonight (at least the best I can do in Texas) as I enjoyed some classic Skyline Chili cheese coneys (albeit chili from a can).

For those not privy to the wondrous creations that emanate from the Queen City, cheese coneys are hot dogs on a standard bun with glorious Cincinnati chili (if you've ever tried it, you know what I am referring to) with a squirt of mustard and piles of very finely shredded cheddar cheese. Some folks prefer onions but personally I think they taint lunch perfection.

For coneys I actually prefer boiled to grilled, otherwise I love my dogs over a fire.

From a national reputation, Cincinnati has branded themselves the Queen City for over a century and has that reputation. Most folks outside the Carolinas aren't familiar with the designation for Charlotte. But both do refer to themselves in that matter.

Actually...

Nicknamed The Queen City (which it shares with Cincinnati, Ohio and Buffalo, NY), Charlotte (as well as the county containing it) was named in honor of Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg, wife of King George III of the United Kingdom. After being driven out by the opposition of the city's citizens to British occupation during the American Revolution, General Cornwallis wrote Charlotte was "a hornet's nest of rebellion", leading to another city nickname: The Hornet's Nest.
