I picked up Lindy's College Football 2007 preview today and he has Liberty ranked 25th is his preseason 1-AA poll. Coastal comes in at 21. However in the Big South preditions, they have Liberty wining the conference. I know it's just a preseason ranking but it's still pretty exciting to see Liberty in any top 25 poll.

I take all of these preseason rankings with a big grain of salt. But I agree that is nice to see us getting some respect in certain quarters.

Is this is first time (preseason or during the season) that we have been ranked since the Coach Sam days? I'm guessing that KK never had a ranked team during his tenure here.

In the Sam era being nationally ranked was a bad omen. The higher we were ranked the worse we did. I can't recall a Karcher team being preseasonally ranked at all.
