if you remember TV's in DeMoss hall

ha, it was in the lounge/couch area. what a waste of space that was. It was kinda cool at times though to come out of a class and find a bunch of your dormmates just sitting around on the couches.

if you remember the rock wall thingy
Check, check and check.

My favorite part about the old wall and all that came with it, were the grazing deer behind the fake windows. Talk about your classic interior design touches.

Oh yea, and I used to feed quality TV programming to those TVs. "New Music", and The Sunday nigh show who's name had escaped my old hag brain are just 2 quality examples

the wall! hahahhaha, I forgot all about that. Chris Price, noted columnist of the The Champion section "the price is right", had a nickname for it that I shall not disclose. But if you remember who was always sitting on it, you'll know that it was a mildly racist nickname.

Speaking of Classic TV programs on the DeMoss TV's, anyone remember "Act It Out" with Alfonzo Wesson on the Liberty Channel. I'm a 2005 and during most of my time there, Saturday nights would be a 2 episode mini-marathon of that with the sweet Toyota Supra in the opening in downtown Lynchbug.

And Wesson claimed to be the "original Fonz" and always had Dr. Miller from the Psychology Dept. as his side kick then, and I think it was filmed in the Lloyd Auditorium, back when we still had a fountain sculpture inside the Fine Arts building.

I did lighting for Act it out and ran the camera jib as an employee for LBN. By the way besides the Lloyd auditorium we also taped 1 season at the original north campus (old Cradock Terry shoe factory) which is now Genworth off the expressway. The set in there was huge and fun to build.

We've had some 'Act It Out' threads on here on both the old Firehouse and this board. Suffice it to say it wasn't one of the high moments in Liberty history. I liked the fact that for that one shining moment we were trying to think outside the box. But the execution was awful.

Most of my friends were working on that crew with Knucklehead et al.

As for the fountain, wasn't that Macel's Marvel?

Crazy as it sounds, they put a floor there.

Yes, the auditorium is still there.

Huh. A floor. Go figure.

Is the auditorium still where the campus dramas are performed?

They often sell out the majority of the shows for all the plays, and we're getting some good ones in there. Course some of the folks acting in the plays are friedns of mine.

As a side note, We just had 5 of the members of the cast of Thoroughly Modern Millie here just got nominated for Irene Ryan awards (its one of the highest awards in collegiate theatre)
