Hey I don't think anybody started a discussion on this but Coach Rocco has said that the theme for this season is "From Good to Great" I just thought Id start a topic with everybody's thoughts on that one

I think it's good, Coach Groh had the same one for UVa a few years ago while Danny was on staff, so not very creative, but that's fine with me as I'm as far from creative as they come. I don't know if any of you have read the book, but it is very good and I would recommend it to anyone.

I second the book recommendation. He's certainly done some work on that bus of his.

Even though I went to only 1 FF.com tailgate at Homecoming. I can say that another thing going form good to great this year will be the FF.com tailgates.

I like the idea of that saying. I like the saying.

I also know someone else who is going to go "From Good to Great" this season... If you dont know who it is, then youre either new to the board, or you cant read, in which case You wouldnt be able to read any of this so You wouldnt know what i talking about to begin with, so you must be new to the board. haha

I was just reading my post and realized I GMTM'd. Is it OK to call yourself out when it happens?

Have you guys read the non-profit addendum of the book? I saw him giving an overview at a Willow Creek Leadership Summit last fall. Very fascinating content.

As for the slogan itself, let's hope it is a self-fulfilled prophecy.

I can tell you, sitting at the Flames Club luncheon at the FOC, that the sense of excitement and confidence Coach has in his guys and this program is PALPABLE.

He alluded (STRONGLY) to the fact that he expects to achieve some lofty goals this year. "Good to Great" was repeated and repeated. He didn't come out and say it, but you know where he was going with it. These guys expect to be playing in the postseason.

Its downright scary to think about- but we're being told that the Offense AND Defense have come light years from where they were last season. Somewhere- Chanticleer fans are laughing, but I get the sense this team will be unlike anything the BSOUTH has ever seen hit the field in a Liberty jersey.

They're laughing because we didn't lose enough of last years team to graduation so that we could replace them with better players. We're stuck with the same old experienced squad. Drat!

and a freakin huge line, and a defense that will probably take out their QB in the first quarter

They (CCUfans) feel they have a pretty stout offense. I believe the quote was "no defense will be able to handle our speed"

(something to that affect)

Looking forward to them demonstrating that in front of 15,000 at the 'Bill. :D

The funniest part is that their line has just been decimated. They better have The Flash on their squad, because whoever gets handed the ball is going to be running from 11 guys.

the only problem with their 'speed' is that a RB can't run until he 's through the line, and i think after our line hits him he's not gonna feel much like running

Is it our D-line that has been upgraded a huge degree? or our O-line... I know we got some bigs but I can't recall which side of the ball got the biggest bump.

O-line is huge. D-line isn't anything to laugh about though.

We certainly do...though they play Flag Football. They're undefeated as they beat Lynchburg College in 2003 :P

I meant our women's tennis team though, since I "broke" the news before the release came out yesterday.
