Not everybody has Facebook access, SJ. So with your permission I'm dropping a few pics on here.

And the banner and the shirts look outstanding!

Most of us didn't take action photos.

Some of us were too, um, distracted to take pictures of the actual game.

Tailgating was awsome. I'll concur with John about the girls at liberty and that he's terrible at hillbilly golf  Can't wait to tailgate with you guys this coming fall. Glad i got to meet some of ya'll too. Got sunburned sittin on top of the FOC. Game was pretty good. I think the whole team came out a little flat. I was worried about the 7 or 8 times we ran out the 25 second clock on Offense. Dan the new punter is looking really good. (and he's a walk on!) all field goals were made and only one INT for the Defense. over all not too shabby. especilly attendence. 4,388 was the grand total. Thanks a bunch Scar and others for all the food. It was good times.

Yea, you messed that up pretty bad.

Are you implying that I would say things that aren't of the best nature and may be a little off color?

Sounds like a great time, I hate that I missed it :( . I do look forward to being there for most if not all of the games in the fall. I'm sure we will get a good rundown on all the action as the weekend progresses. The most important thing is no injuries.

Jon, I hate when people spell my name "John" too :x

Stop whining about being new.

Once you tailgate with us, you're no longer new.

Here is the wrapup from the SIDs:
Offense Shines as Flames Conclude Spring Practice with Annual Game

April 21, 2007
Lynchburg, Va.

After a three-and-out series to open the game, Liberty’s white team rolled up 395 yards of offense en route to a convincing 45-25 victory over the Flames’ blue squad during the program’s annual Spring Game, played in front of a record crowd of 4,388 fans at Williams Stadium, Saturday afternoon.

My bad. I guess he was catching so many short passes that I just assumed. That's what I get for not looking at the sheet.

Speaking of the sheet, for anyone who's interested, the scoring system went like this:
Offense

First down - 1 point
Extra Point - 1 point
Two Point Conversion - 2 points
Field Goal - 3 points
Touchdown - 6 points

Defense

Stop on Downs - 1 point
Missed FG - 2 points
Fourth Down Stop - 2 points
Three and Out Series - 2 points
Sack - 2 points
Two Point Conversion Stop - 2 points
Takeaway - 3 points
Touchdown - 9 points
The final score was Offense 45, Defense 25.

The rules were as follows:
- The game will be conducted as offense vs. defense
- The game will consist of four 12-minute quarters. A running clock will be utilized and will stop only for change of possessions and at time outs.
- Each team is allowed three (3) time outs per half.
- The clock will function as a normal game clock in the last minute of each half.
- All game situations are "live" except for hits on the quarterbacks.
- The coaching staff will determine the administration of penalties as well as starting field position for each series.

Note: If a situation arises where multiple scoring criteria are met, points will only be awarded for the higher of the two criteria and not a combination of points.

And now, Sly, for several pictures from a single play. This was a long pass from Brock to someone I can't remember and who's number I can't quite make out in the photos. I'm sure someone remembers who it was. I'm link right to the original files, so be forewarned these are huge:

Pic 1, Pic 2, Pic 3, Pic 4, Pic 5, Pic 6, Pic 7, Pic 8

That's all for now.

Great pics and thanks for the explanation.

BTW was FSN working the sidelines today? We could use some low angle shots.

I'm glad everyone seemed to have fun.

Hey, I couldn't make it. But I bought a shirt. We'll you all hold it for me for the first game...or do you want me to pay shipping. Let me know what I should do! Thanks :)

And the wrapup from Chris:
Reserve running back excels in LU spring game

By Chris Lang
Lynchburg News & Advance
April 22, 2007

Spring football games are notorious for producing unheralded stars. Thus was the case Saturday at Liberty's Williams Stadium, when a little used sophomore running back named Wesley Cheek scored two of the Flames' three touchdowns.

Liberty's offense dominated the game, beating the defense 45-25 in a game with a scoring system that rewarded the offense for scoring plays and first downs and rewarded the defense with stops, sacks and takeaways.
