Boy, it's just a shame that the poor people at Virginia Tech didn't have the last 2 pages of this thread at their disposal yesterday. They could have sat there in their classrooms, listening intently as the gunshots drew closer and closer. They could have analyzed the individual reports and determined that there were two semi-automatic weapons of differing calibers, one smaller than the other. They could also have learned that the gunman needed 7-8 full seconds and two hands to drop the spent clip and slap in a new one, which was obviously ample time for someone to jump him should he come to their room. After reading all this, they would have felt supremely confident in themselves as live bullets started tearing through the classroom door and their screaming friends and classmates started either jumping out of the 4th-floor windows or just plain dying. And, really, there's absolutely nothing about seeing someone get shot in the head that's even the slightest bit terrifying. It really is exactly like on TV.
Just a shame.
Just a shame.
