yea, i just drove by to check them out. i'm not feeling the wheels. makes it look a little awkward in that particular spot.

and are those trees new that they just planted around the endzone?! if not, i haven't noticed them. do they realize they're going to grow! not only are they going to grow, but the crowd is going to grow... hopefully meaning they'll need stands there!

You guys can have it.

Sorry, but I'm going to enjoy my last year as a student with the other students.

My initial feeling is that adding the 10 temporary suites for this season is more of a feeling out process. To wit, is there enough demand for suites like this to justify building a permanent skybox / press box structure?

agreed- though I've heard there ARE committments to fill several of these should they be built. I forget the number- but recall the seasonal price being in the muliple thousands.

I heard that there were 5 people who spoke up for a suite if they were available. (That was the middle of last year). I am sure if they don't sell the entire suite for a year, they would make them available on a game by game basis.

A few years ago, I became a box convert. Our family bought a box package for the Arkansas Razorback football games when they expanded their stadium a few years ago. On the night of the first game, a strong thunderstorm delayed the game for two hours. We waited out the delay with a full buffet spread and remote control as we watched the other games that were going on around the country. There was no turning back for me. The best part was watching the student section. They arrived at the stadium hours before it started to get their unreserved seats. The rain came, the thunder clapped and the lightning flashed, but THE STUDENTS NEVER LEFT. While the other 65,000 people sought shelter, the students section seemed oblivious to the weather. The entire time they cheered, called the Hogs (Woo....Pig sooie cheer), sang the fight song, did multiple versions of the wave, etc..... As a whole, they did not sit down the entire time.

Boxes are great for Old Hags (I guess I would have to consider myself in that category), but students should enjoy their section. One day, we will attend the football games and enjoy not just the game itself, but an energized student section. That atmosphere was lacking when I was a student, but will definitely change as the program matures and competes at the highest level.

The atmosphere is returning, SumItUp. We took a big step forward last year and not even the remnants of a tropical storm slowed down our opening night crowd. This fall should be outstanding building off of last year's excitement.

That's exactly what they are doing... I just came back from there and Jeff Barber was there telling us what they are going to do and I was very impressed with what they have and what they are going to have...These will be first class once they are done.

Did we buy these or are they some kind of rented thing? If we bought them, I hope we paint them blue or something. Or heck, brick them up like we do with everything else.

I would assume that someone on staff is somewhat familiar with the life cycle of trees, yes.

I believe that these are rented units. Currently, they are only previewing one unit this weekend and will be bringing in the full 10 units in the fall. As someone already posted, this is probably not a long-term solution so the units probably would not be bricked in.

Are they putting all 10 of these on the press box side?
