Dunton is the new Global Warming, which replaced El Nino as the entity on which we could place the blame of all of life's problems.

You mean we can't blame the general Big South bias against Liberty? :P

So was attendance a reason for RD's firing? I hadn't really heard that on here yet.

attendance wasn't a direct reason for his firing. He was fired due to him being the cause of most of mankind's problems, LU attendence included in there. So, it's a yes-and-no situation.

I see. Attendance just seems a very insignificant way for someone with a hidden agenda to try to get someone else fired. From my perspective, it seemed RD wasn't exactly making it hard for those with agendas, if they exist. I'm not near campus anymore, so I wouldn't know.

someone wanna explain to me how #2 'cuse outdraws #52 Dook, 23.5 k to 9300?

I would NEVER have believed that.

is it simply the venue? I'm assuming Syracuse uses the Carrier Dome?

Yep. Cameron Indoor Stadium holds 9,314 people. The Carrier Dome seats an estimated 33,000 for basketball.

Duke had the option a few years ago of building a new arena. A lot of plans were tossed around. In the end, they decided to keep Cameron, sans air conditioning, and build a new athletic complex around the existing building. I think it was the right decision.

BTW- as bad as our attendance was (just under 1800/avg), we were the second highest draw at home in the league  to WU's 3k. Gotta get CCU and CSU to amp up attendance though, everyone else was close to 2k avg.

I also agree w/ whoever (LUconn maybe?) said those numbers may be last year. I believe I remember WU's guys saying they avg'd about 3k last season and were closer to 4k this year.

Final point- Gardner Webb avg'd well over 2700 last year so that should help our numbers.

Since we keep bringing this up...

Two laser beams at every door :) If you break the outside one then the second one, you're headed in...if you break the inside one then the outside one, your headed out. It doesn't give you the total #, but it would give you the highest # of people at the game at one time, if that makes sense. Wirelessly network them to a computer to add them up. That way if the attendance is still low some one can hack the computer and boost our numbers

They can't amp up attendance until they get bigger places to play in...UNCA is in the same boat too...

And WU did average 4K this season...

So some of you people really think that the Athletic Department lowered the attendance on games last year? I have one question and would like some answers. We are currently trying to attract businesses to join as sponsors, if we say that we have 500 less people that are at the games do you think that, that will help the cause... If anything we would be rounding the numbers up to make us look better...I think some people on here really just don't get it...If we cheat ourselfs nobody wins....If round down it makes EVERYBODY look bad...and this group is not about that...

you will never change their minds man...I think there were a couple games that had a ton of kids show up after half time and weren't counted, and by ton I mean like 2-300...but for the most part I think they were right on...people just didn't come to games this year plain and simple

Those numbers are a year old... UVa's numbers are way up in JPJ and that was the first thing I noticed... also it is the Indy Final Four listed.

Obviously we would not have a lower number on purpose. That wouldn't make sense on any level. There were at least 2 games, where I distinctly remembered getting there (in the first half) and thought to myself, "wow, a lot of people showed up for this one". And then the official count I found out the next day was like 1800. And please don't insult my intelligence by saying they were spread out so that tricked me into thinking there was more. I'm not such an idiot that I can't figure that out.

I used the Term "WE" because I work for the school and get paid by them and more than anything use "WE" in reffering to Liberty as a whole.. Also it is my job to help promote things on the radio and help get the word out... But I would never I repeat use the term "WE" while calling a game...I hate it , I hate it, I hate it

The lasers would solve this problem. If they put in lasers I'd try to do a cartwheel. The laser was the best weapon on the old Konami game Contra.
