Interesting voting so far--not one vote for the lone steakhouse on the poll (Ponderosa) and no votes for Shoney's.

I used to love Shoney's breakfast buffet, but now both Ryans & Golden Coral have breakfast buffets that are probably better. Yea, the 'burg used to boast 2 Shoney's at the locations already described, but both buildings are now Mexican restaurants.

We also have had no write-in votes for Steak-n-Shake or Denny's.

They filed Chapter 11 and closed around 200 locations in 1998, I think. That trend has continued. It's a shame. I enjoy their food.

Looks like the same thing has happened to Shoney's. They've even closed most of their distribution warehouses.

For some reason we've had a number of Boston Markets open up down here int he last year or so. Its awight ... but I prefer other chicken down here in H-town. We have one lone Shoneys left in Houston (Perhaps the last in Texas) near Reliant Stadium.

Now a Steak 'N Shake would be awesome. We only have a couple of those down here in Texas and they are about 4-5 hours form my place. That's some quality grub.

Steak N Shake would be great in Lynchburg. It's expensive though.

Yeah, Steak N Shake is comparable to others on that list pricewise but with better offerings IMHO.

And I have to admit, I worked at a Ponderosa in my first ever job. After working there I never had interest in eating there ever again.

The one in Winston is decently expensive. Overall it's not expensive, but for the amount and quality of food you get, it is.

There's a Steak N' Shake in Greensboro right off of I-40 which is on the way back to Lynchburg if you're coming from the Winston side of things.

I have yet to really be impressed with the Cheesecake Factory, especially for the price. It's alright, but I've had better food and better cheesecake.

I haven't been to Burg' in about half a year so I am not sure if these are open but here a list:

-Chili's
-Moe's
-Carraba's- (a glorified Olive Garden, I think there's one actually in Greensboro, alot better though than Olive Garden)
-Buffalo Wild Wings- There's one in Danville
-Whataburger- the Mcdonalds of Texas, I have only seen one in Florida (Melbourne)
-Steak N' Shake- Would be prime in the burg, I'm suprise they havn't put one there yet
-UNO's- I think the closest one is in Greensboro

They need a Macadoos in Florida though; I am not sure where other are located, but the ones in Boone and Burg' are really good
