STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Metallica may be a cool name for a heavy metal band, but a Swedish couple is struggling to convince officials it is also suitable for a baby girl.

Michael and Karolina Tomaro are locked in a court battle with Swedish authorities, which rejected their application to name their six-month-old child after the legendary rock band.

I'm a huge fan of Cash. Seriously. The American I-V albums have a special playlist on my iPod. However, A Boy Named Sue is a poem by my favorite poet of all time, Shel Silverstein. Johnny Cash just put the words to music, and quite brilliantly, I might add.

I said Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt". I did like NIN's music but I have never had any patience for Trent Reznor or the Addams Family wannabes that call themselves his fans.

He did a lot of covers in his later years at the behest of his producer.

Cash has some depressing tunes, but writing about sunshine and rainbows wasn't exactly his thing. There's a reason he was The Man in Black. In fact, he wrote a song about it.

Wow, I completely agree with that statement. The Black Album was the beginning of the end. I can't begin to fathom why in the world they made "Re-Load". I mean it should say something when the guy that grows up idolizing your band and then actually becomes your bass player finally bails out after you hire a band therapist! You're freaking metal! You don't hire a therapist and start covering Bob Segar songs!

the album when they play with apoclyptica (the orchestra) is pretty good. But then again they're playing a lot of their old stuff.

The album you're referring to is "S&M" (Symphony & Metallica) from 1999.

They were not playing with Apocalyptica. Apocalyptica is a four-piece cello group that covers metal songs, mostly Metallica.

On the S&M album, Metallica played with the San Fransisco Symphony and Michael Kamen was the guest composer/conductor. It was brilliant and is a great double-disc set. The DVD is even better. And yes, they played a ton of their old stuff. It was the first time they had played "Call of Ktulu" (from Ride the Lightning) since 1986. IMHO, the version of Battery (from the Master of Puppets album) on S&M was the best I'd ever heard it played.
