Any of the current students been on the new ASSIST??? I don't really like it....they say its more user friendly but it just seems you need to do more just to look at classes and such....I don't know if this is the final product....but I have talked to others about it and it seems as if people aren't too happy with it

anybody else seen it yet?? What do you think about it??

ASIST. Two S's. It's an acronym, though I can't tell you what it stands for right now.

As for the interface, it will get better. We just switched the ENTIRE university over to new software. I'm not talking about giving them a new email client or something. I mean we replaced the software that runs the entire school. Applications and databases for everything from the registrar and budget to housing and financial aid. It's all new.

That project in and of itself took an unbelievable amount of effort. I don't think most people will ever have a clue what IS has been through over the last year to pull this off. In time, it's all for the better. It's just a lot of work and changes at once right now.

the new one has some good features like:
when you look at classes for next semester, you can narrow your search a LOT
you can view your week in a calendar format
i haven't spent enough time to find anything else cool
i dont like having to click like 5 times before i get to what im looking for. it is confusing, but i think it wont be so bad once we get used to it

Yeah, I liked the old in-house req system better myself. Again, it will get better with time. Banner is running the entire school now. While some of the initial interfaces may make you wonder why, from the big picture view, it makes a lot of sense.

The program is a dream over in housing. Of course, getting Adarondak instead of CMDS/AS400 makes a world of difference, as well.

Oh, I know that it took a lot of work...probably more then I could even begin to imagine...I just am not a big fan of it at this moment....and I knew it was asist...but for some reason i put 2 s's multiple times

Anyways, it has potential, but at its state right this second...I don't like it..

I also don't think I like windows vista either, they have it on a few of the computers in the lab, and it looks cool, but yeah....i don't know

maybe i am getting old or something and can't handle change....i did just turn 24 not so long ago....haha
