Wow Realist, that is cool. I wish those guys well. I Think Bradshaw has a chance at 6-10 and the way he shoots the ball. Martin would be tougher to call because there are so many guys between 6 and 6-7 that can play in this world. The numbers are against you but at 6-10, your odds are better. I think both those guys will play for money somewhere though.

Couldn't agree with you more. They will probably do what Pierre Wooten, the former PG for the Eagles is doing. Pierre gets a spot on an NBA team's summer/pre-season roster and survives a couple of cuts, but can't seem to make the final cut. Then he goes somewhere overseas and plays. If Craig can improve over the summer and throughout next year, he may be able to make the final cut. I won't be surprised either way for Craig, but if both Craig and Torrell have to play overseas, I think they will have pretty good careers playing basketball.

We still have a bunch of guys overseas.

Speaking of which, Scar needs to get some of those guys on this board. Their insight would be cool.

Lets use this thread to keep up with the rest of the tournament even though our boys are not in it anymore. Speaking of which, what happened down in Birmingham? Our boy over on the Joe Cribbs Car Wash website that does the webblog will have to come over here and let us know. I know he was as surprised as me. I have to say that I think Buzz got ripped off for coach of the year. Reboul has 2 in 3 seasons of competition in the Big South. He is a legendary coach no doubt and he won 2 National titles and they have had really good seasons in the Big South Regular season but the 1st round home loss to CSU has to hurt. I feel that pain actually because it happend to our beloved Flames just last season. Anyway, if you are out there JCCW guy, give me a shout out in your Webblog!!!!

I thought Reboul deserved it. Buzz had some talent coming back in Pele and Leasure and a experienced point guard in Stevens. Reboul was basically using a new team with only Vigilanco. Reboul finished 3rd after being predicted 6th, and Buzz finished where everyone expected him too.

I don't know, Realist, Rebeoul did have James Collins and Sredrick Powe too who were decent players. Collins was lighting it up late. Even as a soph he lead the Big South in 3 point percentage shooting nearly 50%. I have a lot of respect for Rebeoul as a coach and I am not mad that he got the coach of the year to tell the truth, but I was surprised that Buzz wasn't the favorite. Coastal had high expectations only because they had the POY and ROY from last year. Collin Stevens is decent but he wasn't even in the starting lineup for much of the year. Good job by both coaches though.

I have Winthrop by 15 over High Point and Coastal in a tight, tight game over Charleston Southern. Three of last season's semi-finalists are in it again this year. Last year BSC was in and Coastal was out in the first round as an 8th seed. Ironically they were the only team to beat Winthrop all season last year and Winthrop ends up playing them in the first round. Winthrop has lost 4 games in 2 seasons and 3 of them were to Coastal (we all remember the 4th one last week). If they face each other in the finals it is going to be a good one for the conference! Can't wait to see what happens....Maybe no one else shares my enthusiasm because of our collective opinion about the Big South but this still has my interest.

I agree on your outcome but I'm giving it to Coastal by 12.

In the finals, WU gets serious and waxes coastal.

But I hope WU doesn't win simply so we'll have 2 teams in the postseason.

Charleston Southern could be Coastal the way their guards are playing that is why I have a close one going to the home team. Chuck South is shooting really well. They went to Bill Battle Coliseum where BSC has won over 90% of their games in 25 years and gave them the worse loss in the building's history! They shot in the 60's for the game. Their guards are tough to stay in front of and they know how to finish shots well. Add to that some good three point shooting and if Coastal doesn't match the shooting, it could be an upset. I am still picking Coastal though.

I still am very interested in the tourny. I am kinda hoping for Winthrop to lose to see what they could do in the NIT. However, I don't want Coastal or High point to win it. So I guess I will be cheering for Chuck South. We'll see what happens. In the end, I think Winthrop and Coastal would be a great matchu-up. With both teams playing very well, and Winthrop wanting to avenge their 2 losses to Coastal.

For anybody paying attention:

ESPN2 noon tomorrow is Coastal vs Winthrop. This is gonna be a great game. I'm really looking forward to it which is something I don't think I've been able to say when LU hasn't played in it.

I was dead on about last night's games so I want to be right about tomorrow! I think Winthrop wins by 5. Craig Bradshaw and Chris Gaynor will key the attack but Torrell Martin will be big. Leasure was 3-12 from behind the arc last night. He may have cooled down a bit. I am looking forward to the matchup though. I wish I had ESPN U in my hotel but I don't but I got a few updates from my boy Jason Allison (asst coach VMI) who was watching on TV.

Can't wait for the game tomorrow, should be intense. Maybe the biggest all sport rivalry in the conference going at it for the title. I think it's pretty tight for most of the way and WU pulls away for a 10-12 point win.

my cheering interests are torn

pros of CCU win

2 teams in post season
keeps a rotation in conference champion (no domination by 1 team)
I really don't like Marshall and I would like nothing better for him to taste bitter defeat

pros of WU win

best chance at a win in the NCAAs
I like having a recent championship to hold over coastal's head
CCU wins enough in other sports, they don't need more of a reason to leave the conference
Buzz winning it their first year making him look good and it eclipses what UT is doing this year without him

pick your poison. at least it's not HPU I guess.

I'm possibly making the drive down tomorrow morning if I can scrape up the money. I had a ton of people IM me last night once they got home from the game asking if I was coming down Saturday.

It's gonna be a pretty cool atmosphere since the schools are so close. Cross your fingers for some drunkin fights in the stands!

Dangit that sucked. I was going for CCU. Man, when they were rushing the court at the end this WU fan that was painted up ran right into this CCU dude's face. He tried to ignore him but the guy pushed him and he started charging at him but they camera cut away. I bet that kid got pounded. It was Jermaine O'Neil style.

Congrats to the Eagles. But that was an incredibly tight game. The Chants clearly give Winthrop matchup problems.

Now lets pull for WU to pull off an upset in the Dance.

I'll be curious to see if the Chants & BSC get invites to the NIT.

Could Marshall have mentioned Marquette anymore times than he did when he knew he was on camera? I can't stand that guy. I was neutral going into the game but he definatly pushed me over to CCU's corner.
